Erin & Ben Napier’s Show Moving Forward After Tragic Fire

The show must go on. When a fire ripped through the new boutique hotel that Erin and Ben Napier helped their best friends restore, the HGTV stars thought the series they’d filmed about the renovated hotel might never air.

But on December 10, 2025 — nearly four months after the devastating blaze — the couple told USA Today a version of the spinoff show will air on HGTV, after all.

Erin Napier Says Fire Was ‘Devastating’ to Their Group of Friends

When a fire broke out at The Heirloom on August 26, the 30-room boutique hotel had just begun taking reservations amid the news that HGTV was filming a new show about the property’s restoration, called “Home Town: Inn This Together.” But hours after the blaze tore through the hotel, Erin wrote on social media that she wasn’t sure “you’ll ever get to see this @hgtv show now.”

Restoring an old building in downtown Laurel and turning it into a hotel was a project the Napiers had been quietly working on, supporting their dear friends and business partners — Jim and Mallorie Rasberry (Jim is Erin’s cousin, and Mallorie is her longtime bestie) and Josh Nowell.

“This was their baby,” Napier told USA Today. “To watch them give their all − and I really mean give their all to create this masterpiece − and then to watch it burn together, was devastating.”

“The episodes are going to air,” Ben said of the spinoff, which will air sometime in 2026.

Erin Napier Said in August She Knew Her Friends Wouldn’t ‘Give Up’ After Fire

The group huddled outside the hotel, Erin shared in an Instagram post that night, writing, “We held each other and watched it burning while the brave fire fighters from the Laurel FD worked for hours to get it under control. Today feels like a funeral.”

“But I know these people,” she continued. “They won’t give up here. I don’t know what will happen next or if you’ll ever get to see this @hgtv show now. I don’t know much of anything. Pray for my friends and family, please. It is hard to explain how this reverberates through our town and its progress in many ways. But I know God has a plan for this setback. He always knows the way, even when we don’t.”

Indeed, the group has been working diligently to pick up the pieces after the devastating fire. In late September, they shared an Instagram video of the wreckage and vowed to rebuild.

Meanwhile, season 10 of the Napiers’ primary show, “Home Town,” premieres on HGTV on January 4.
