Whether he’s snatching trophies on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” plotting against the Faithfuls on “The Traitors” or touring the world with mega pop icon Madonna, Bob the Drag Queen has never been afraid of the spotlight.
Now, following successful careers as a reality TV star, comedian, recording artist, podcaster and New York Times bestselling author, the drag artist is preparing to take his talents to the Broadway stage as he joins the cast of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical.”
Bob the Drag Queen: ‘This has Always Been a Dream of Mine’
Known as Caldwell Tidicue out of drag, Bob will make his Broadway debut on January 27, 2026, joining the Tony-winning musical in the role of master of ceremonies Harry Zidler.
GettyThe role is currently held by “Whose Line is it Anyway?” star Wayne Brady, who will remain in the company until November 9. Following Brady’s engagement, Robert Petkoff, who performs the role on the “Moulin Rouge!” national tour, will take over until Bob assumes the mantle in January.
Caldwell will occupy the role at New York City’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre for an eight-week limited engagement, with his final curtain call set to take place on March 22.
“Being on Broadway has always been a dream of mine,” said Bob in a statement. “I moved to NYC almost 17 years ago to pursue it. Some roads take a while.”

Competing in a secret alliance with “Big Brother” star Danielle Reyes and “Survivor” alumni Carolyn Wiger and “Boston Rob” Mariano, Bob quickly emerged as a fan favorite stand-out on the now Emmy-winning season.
Peacock/GettyBeyond his reality TV appearances, Caldwell has similarly celebrated a plethora of guest spots in TV and film, including projects like “Lucifer,” “The Simpsons” and “Doctor Odyssey.”
He has since launched his own production company, Purse First Studios, to create content “made for queer audiences by queer people.”
He’s a Celebrated Stand-Up Comedian, Performer, Podcaster & Author
Onstage, Bob has graduated from late-night lipsyncs in New York nightclubs to performing on international tours, not only as an award-winning stand-up comic and drag queen, but also as the emcee for Madonna’s 2024 “Celebration Tour.”
When he’s not onstage or on set, Bob serves as the co-host of the award-winning podcast “Sibling Rivalry” with fellow “Drag Race” star Monet X Change. Caldwell has similarly starred in a string of popular YouTube series, including Dimension20’s “Dungeons and Drag Queens.”
