NEW YORK, NEW YORK – MAY 23: Heidi Gardner arrives at The House of Suntory 100 Year Anniversary Global Event and “Suntory Time” Tribute Premiere with Keanu Reeves and Sofia Coppola on May 23, 2023 in New York City.

Gardner will be one of at least 15 actors/comedians to take the stage in Simon Rich’s new show. The performances begin on December 12, 2025, with the cast rotating in and out. Each night will feature four familiar faces as they “read hilarious stories by Simon Rich about ego, envy, greed, and basically just New Yorkers in general,” per “All Out’s” website.

Gardner will share the stage with fellow “SNL” alum Sarah Silverman, as well as Jason Mantzoukas and Craig Robinson. Other celebrities who will perform in the show include “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart, “SNL” alum Cecily Strong, improvisor Wayne Brady, and more.

The show will also feature music from the band Lawrence, who’s lead singer Gracie Lawrence was recently in HBO Max’s “The Sex Lives of College Girls.” “All In” is produced by “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels and directed by Alex Timbers.

“All Out” is Rich’s second Broadway play, following last year’s “All In: Comedy About Love.” That show also featured a rotating cast of celebrities, including John Mulaney and Lin-Manuel Miranda. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “All In” was often one of the highest-grossing Broadway shows of the week.

Heidi Gardner’s ‘SNL’ Career

Gardner made her “SNL” debut in 2017 for the NBC sketch comedy show’s 43rd season. She quickly made herself a staple of the show with recurring characters such as Your Co-Worker Who is Extremely Busy Doing Seemingly Nothing and Goop staffer Baskin Johns. After “SNL” season 50, Variety reported Gardner would not be returning.

The exact reason for Gardner’s departure remains unknown. However, Deadline reported that during a conversation on Craig Ferguson’s podcast, Gardner admitted, “I will say the only thing that I’ve started to feel a little bit is just sketch fatigue, or idea fatigue,” then adding, “At this point, after doing Groundlings and SNL for so long, I’m like, ‘I’ve written a lot of sketches.’”

Gardner has done more that “SNL,” having appeared on shows like Apple TV’s “Shrinking” and “Alien News Desk,” among others.
