Fans React to Shocking Elimination on ‘The Amazing Race’ Last Night

We had a shocking elimination on “The Amazing Race” season 38 last night. After a live Double U-Turn vote left Tucker & Eric needing to complete both parts of the Detour on “The Amazing Race” 2025, they ended up getting to the Pit Stop last and being eliminated by host Phil Keoghan.

After winning four legs in a row, and never finishing less than fourth place all season long, the brothers were eliminated, and the fans had a lot to say about it in our “The Amazing Race” spoilers below.

Last Night’s Elimination on ‘The Amazing Race’

We had a new episode of “The Amazing Race” season 38 last night. For this episode, the six remaining teams all hopped on a flight to Athens, Greece. Once they landed in Greece, they were surprised to see Phil Keoghan waiting for them.

He surprised the teams with a live vote. They would each cast their votes for a Double U-Turn, where two teams would have to do both the Detours on this leg of the race.

The votes ended up in a tie, which meant three teams would have to complete both Detours: Tucker & Eric, Jas & Jag, and Kyland & Taylor. The three teams that were leading the last leg of the race were now faced with completing double the work.

While it did affect Kyland & Taylor, as they were struggling in the back of the pack most of the night, the other two teams recovered nicely. Jas & Jag actually got both Detours done before Jack & Chelsie even made it to their Detour spot.

However, in the end, Tucker was struggling with the Road Block task. He just couldn’t figure out the lowercase Greek letters. It came down to him and Taylor at the end, but she got them completed first, and they survived elimination.

Fans React to Tucker & Eric’s Elimination

After the elimination, fans of “The Amazing Race” definitely went online to voice their frustration. Tucker & Eric have been clear frontrunners all season long, and then this happened.

One user wrote, “This was total sabotage by production.” Another person added, “Joseph and Adam weren’t penalized for coming in last. Unfair! If you’re not going to eliminate every round, then you should have a penalty the next round.”

The live vote had people worked up. This fan wrote, “This U Turn thing is BS, so let’s punish the best and help the weaker teams, ok🙄.” While this person wrote, “So Tucker and his brother were obviously on a winning streak so you come up with a vote where you know they’re going to be penalized and they lose.”

It continued, as this person wrote, “I hate with a capital H this season they cheated Tucker and Eric out of this race, this double u-turn only gives advantage to weaker teams.”

One final comment said, “This was a bummer of an episode tonight. We like the twists and turns but the best team should win, not go home.”

What do you think of the results on “The Amazing Race” last night?

  1. For this reason I’m done watching the Amazing race the rest of the season!!!! They intentionally sabotage Tucker and his brother!!! Bye amazing race. You didn’t evict Joe and his brother last week but this week???????? DONE!!!!!!

    • that’s my reaction too, I have followed the amazing race since it’s beginning, they colluded to get rid of the top team, for the sake of the jealous remaining teams, I’m done!

    • I’m done as well. Why Jaz and Jag (?) deserve to win out of who’s left, Tucker and Eric should have been there to compete with them. This is a bad, cheap, nasty ploy from production to drum up unnecessary Big Brother/Survivor style drama from a show I had grown to respect by being true to teams that were truly good. Who cares who wins when you eliminate the best teams? The win is for the best of the losers. Goodbye Amazing Race. Scott and Lori upset me–this took me over the edge. Enough is enough. One less show to watch.

  2. To have a live vote completely erases skill being the driver in the race. It invites collusion. Let’s get back to having skill based events. Double U-turn is ok, but let a team get to it first based on skill, not based on some dramatic vote where clearly there is room for coordination. Disappointed Amazing Race. Been with you since the start.

  4. I totally agree, Eric and Tucker were sabotaged for being the strongest team. This is NOT a fair race and I don’t care to watch any more of it or see who will win unfairly. This was very disappointing! Our family have been watching for years.

  5. This was totally unfair to Tucker and Eric. It did remind me of Survivor where weaker players are often eliminating stronger players. I thought The Amazing Race was above all that nonsense. The remaining episodes will be predictable and kind of boring. Joseph and his brother and the Dad and his daughter will likely be eliminated over the next two weeks and does anyone think Jas and Jag are not going to win it all in the end? I was looking forward to seeing Tucker and Eric duke it out with Jas and Jag for the win in the final episode! What a disappointment. Now we can look forward to watching second string teams compete over the next few weeks with the excellence brought by Tucker and Eric nowhere in sight. Ugh!

  6. Totally agree and glad to see fans speaking up. I will continue to root for Jas and Jag, who are truly skilled racers (and kind human beings), but I would prefer never to see Taylor on TV again and I cannot stand her whining. One thing about this last leg, you have to give it to Chelsea for her remarkable speed in mastering the alphabet challenge. I will miss having Tucker and Eric in the race. CBS, NEVER include this “twist” again.

  7. I also agree with all the other comments. The teams left seemed to be cheering that Eric and Tucker were eliminated instead of being happy they were still in the race. Also what happened to the team of Joe and his brother. I was given the idea that they were supposed to be penalized for coming in last the previous show. This season reminds me of the shows I don’t watch because of all the backstabbing. Eric and Tucker brought the spirit to the show that we all loved. The only team I would root for now would be the father and daughter as they seem to get through all their faults and continue to race without all the distractions

  11. I feel the same as all the previous comments! This was a low down dirty trick! Plus if Taylor win I will believe it’s all a set up and so much bs!

  12. Well ——– it is a game ———there have been times when nothing makes sense or seems fair. Yes this week was a set up, no doubt about it . My beef is —- some of the racers ——- not just this season but others as well. You always have a team that has a cry baby —- I think that is Taylor this season . And someone who always feels -everyone is out to get them —— that would be Izzy. Man -when she kicked the wheel barrow or got into the taxi and she just went off the deep end. Just plain mean. She just couldn’t wait for the boys to gone in this last episode. I don’t think she has had anything nice to say about anyone !

  13. I am writing as a long-time viewer who has always appreciated the competition, sportsmanship, and global adventure your show provides. However, I was very disappointed by the way the recent Double U-Turn played out.

It felt unfair that Eric and Tucker, who were performing strongly and racing with integrity, were targeted despite being ahead. The U-Turn dynamic this season appears to disadvantage strong teams, and it creates a situation where alliances or certain narratives overshadow merit and performance.

I was especially disappointed to see other teams celebrating their setback. Moments like this take away from the spirit of the show, which I have always believed should reward skill, resilience, and positive competition rather than strategic pile-ons.

Eric and Tucker handled themselves respectfully, and it was clear that the result was upsetting for them after putting in such a strong race. As a viewer, it was disheartening to watch, and it has made me reconsider continuing with the season.

I hope future episodes and seasons will place more emphasis on fairness and true competition, allowing the strongest and most consistent teams to succeed based on ability rather than alliances or strategic targeting.

Thank you for taking the time to read my concerns. I love the show and would like to continue watching, but moments like this make it difficult.
