Sterling famously portrayed Dr. Evil’s loyal henchwoman in 1997’s “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery” followed by it’s sequels, “The Spy Who Shagged Me” and “Goldmember.”
The actress met Mike Myers, the man who portrayed the time-traveling spy and Dr. Evil, performing with him at the Groundlings show “Cooking with Gas.”
During her appearance on the Multiple Women Talking podcast last year, Sterling said, “he opened the door to where I was going next.”
Although Myers “really wanted” Sterling for the part, she still had to audition for it. The reason for this, according to Sterling, was that she “was a nobody.” She added, “There were other women.”
“I know that he really wanted me cause he thought I was so funny, he said the best thing about you is you know nothing. And so I remember going into the audition.”
When one of the podcasters noted that a huge compliment coming from Myers, Sterling replied, “I know. I will forever, ever be grateful for him.”
“So I remember going in and there was, I think, maybe two girls that, when I think about it now, I think, they were so wrong for it, but maybe I was thinking about another part.”
While her character of Frau Farbissina may be her best known role, Sterling has built up an impressive acting resume throughout the years.

Outside of her acting career, Sterling is also a mother to her son Max Gadson with her ex-husband Brian Gadson. Sterling is the daughter of actor/comedian Dick Sterling, who is best known for “Mako: The Jaws of Death” (1976), “The Jackie Gleason Show” (1966) and “The Pilot” (1980).
