Rachel Lindsay knows what she’s talking about when it comes to “The Bachelorette.” She was the star of Season 13, and while her marriage with Bryan Abasolo — who she met and became engaged to on the reality TV show — didn’t last in the long run, she still has opinions about a major change on “The Bachelorette.” That’s not to mention her thoughts about the show’s latest star and “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” figure, Taylor Frankie Paul.
While touching on the fact that the show has decided not to cast a former contestant in the lead role the way it always has, and instead picked someone from outside of Bachelor Nation, Rachel noted, “I’ve been saying there needs to be change.”
“I’ve been asking for change in a particular way,” she continued. “It has happened, but not fully, but I think that this is the show trying to step into 2025. They’ve been stuck in 2002 for the longest time, and this is a really beautiful way, I think, for them to do it, and I’m very excited for what’s to come, and I think it’s a new day.”
Rachel Is Critical of ‘The Bachelorette’ Because She Loves It
GettyRachel may have strong opinions about “The Bachelorette,” however, she claims that she’s critical because she cares. She told People, “This is how you are with the things that you care about, right?”
“So when everyone thinks, ‘Oh, she’s so negative about it,’ I’m like, ‘No, I love it … it changed my life and [made me] who I really am, but this is a new day,” she explained.
Rachel Adores New Bachelorette Taylor Frankie Paul
GettyRachel not only has thoughts about “The Bachelorette” show, but she also has opinions about the latest star. While discussing the casting, Lindsay told People, “I’m thrilled. I’m a fan of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”
“The Bachelor has said, you know what, the fairy tale may be dead, but they’re gonna step into the TV world in a different way, and I think that they need to do that and Taylor Frankie Paul is the way to do it,” she later said.
“And Taylor Frankie Paul, however you feel about her, you know that she’s being honest about what it is that’s going on in her life,” she said. “So to bring that to The Bachelorette and to be the first to do it, I think that nobody can do it like her. I actually adore her and I think that she is extremely refreshing.”
