Taylor Frankie Paul is hopping from one reality show to another.
In a surprising move, Paul, 31, made an announcement not related to the show she is currently on, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” As per People.com, Paul announced that she will be the new Bachelorette.
People.com reports that Paul made an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast with Alex Cooper, where she broke the news. Paul also revealed how a TikTok led to her receiving the role.
Taylor Frankie Paul Shares Her ‘Surreal’ Announcement
While on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, the host and Paul jumped right into the news to kick off the podcast episode published on September 10.
“You are on ‘Call Her Daddy’ so we can officially announce that you are this season’s Bachelorette,” the host Cooper said to Paul. “How are you feeling?”
“To be honest, surreal,” Paul responded. “It has not hit me. Right now, in this moment, I’m just thinking about it — it’s not real, it’s not real. I think it’s not going to be until the limo is pulling up, and meeting the people.”
“In my head, I’m like ‘how is this happening?'”
Who Is Taylor Frankie Paul?
GettyPaul is one of the stars of the hit reality show, ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”
According to ABC News, Paul rose to fame before the show aired, as part of the ‘MomTok’ group. That group features her ‘Secret Lives’ co-stars Mayci Neeley, Whitney Leavitt, Layla Taylor, Jennifer Affleck, Mikayla Matthews, and Jessi Ngatikaura.
Seasons one and two of the hit reality series are available to stream on Hulu and Disney+. According to the same report, ‘Secret Lives’ will return for a 10-episode third season. This announcement was made in August, with November 13 being the release date.
Not only will her appearance on ‘The Bachelorette’ (potentially) lead to love, it will lead to more money in her bank account.
Cosmopolitan reports that Emily Maynard was paid $250,000 for her season of ‘The Bachelorette.’ According to Cosmopolitan, Amy Kaufman wrote in her book ‘Bachelor Nation’ that the star of the season rarely makes less than “six figures.”
How a TikTok Led to ‘The Bachelorette’
GettyOn the September 10 episode of ‘Call Her Daddy,’ Cooper and Paul discussed how Paul came to be the star for the upcoming 22nd season of ‘The Bachelorette.’
“I think people are going to be so shocked and surprised for multiple reasons,” the host revealed to Paul. “First being that, this was supposed to be the season of ‘The Bachelor’, there was supposed to be a man that’s sitting there right now that I’m announcing, and instead, it’s you.”
“Which is the best surprise ever. But, how did it get to be you?”
“I’ll give my perspective, I don’t know how it worked out in my favor,” Paul responded. “People are like, ‘You should go on The Bachelorette’. Obviously…my relationship wasn’t working out, and people could see that.”
“So I made a funny video…three years prior, I made the same video,” Paul revealed to the host. “But, I was like, ‘hey, I’m single, I think I’m looking for someone,’ that’s what the TikTok is saying, ‘I hope someone will take me. I’m on probation.”
“Let’s just find ‘The Bachelorette’ and send it off,” Paul continued. “And once I did, people started tagging ‘The Bachelorette’ (saying) ‘you should, you should, you should.'”
“I don’t know if that got their attention…it was a joke to me, unattainable.”
‘The Bachelorette’ season 22 will be released in 2026.
