Lily Collins has become a notable figure in the world of fashion, in part, thanks to her starring role in the stylish Netflix series “Emily in Paris.” Beyond that, the actress took to Instagram on Monday, December 1, to mark the beginning of the festive season by posting photos of herself in a Hollywood holiday party-worthy ensemble.
Showing the star lounging on a leather couch, she can be seen wearing a sheer black bodysuit that boasts long sleeves, ruffles at the waist, extra fabric on the shoulders and little polka dots all over. Underneath, the actress has on a black lace bra.
Wearing her hair slicked back, she also popped on gold hoop earrings and one ring on each hand.
In the second photo, you can also see that there are ruffles on the cuffs of her pant legs, which meet up with her super-sleek, sharp-toed boots.
While the first photo is in color, the second is striking in black and white.
In the caption, she wrote, “That time of year again. Holiday party ready…”
Lily’s Fans Love Her Fashionable Look
There’s no doubt that Collins’s bodysuit was a chic choice. Plenty of stars have been slaying the sheer style trend like Jenna Ortega and Bella Hadid, not to mention Dakota Johnson and Paris Hilton, just to name a few. While there have been various takes on the trend, fans agreed that Collins nailed her look.
“Wow incredible beautiful lily🌹 gorgeous,” one person said in a comment.
A second person wrote, “Omg how amazing and beautiful you are, Lily!💕”
“Lovely as always…,” someone else commented.
Yet another follower wrote, “Amazing and beautiful 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
Lily Has Become Bold with Her Style
GettyAlthough Collins now plays a fabulously fashionable character, being bold with her style wasn’t always a part of her reality. Recalling a past relationship with a boyfriend who discouraged certain outfits, she told InStyle (via People) that he would tell her that “you can’t wear that, you can’t do that, you can’t say that.”
She explained, “I thought for a while that if you make yourself physically, with volume, appear bigger, then you’re taking up too much space.”
When the relationship ended, things changed for Collins. That’s not to mention scoring the starring role on “Emily in Paris.” Of the character’s style sense, the actress says “she takes up space in a lovely way.”
“Mixing patterns and prints[,] textures, styles in a way that was foreign to me,” she added. “I started to realize that I didn’t have to be afraid of color anymore.”
