Regé-Jean Page will return to television as the lead of the upcoming Netflix thriller “Hancock Park,” the streamer confirmed to outlets including People and E! News. The role marks Page’s first major TV project since he left the hit series “Bridgerton,” which launched him to international fame.
Netflix described the show as an erotic thriller that follows a mysterious outsider whose arrival disrupts a wealthy family living in one of Los Angeles’ most exclusive neighborhoods. Early details indicate the series will explore themes of power, secrecy, and obsession.
Deadline reported that Page will also executive produce the series. Matthew Barry, known for writing “The Guest” and working on “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” will serve as the show’s writer.
Plot and Character Details
People reported that the story begins when a “dangerously charismatic outsider” rents the guest house behind a prominent family’s estate in Hancock Park. As he becomes part of their daily lives, tension grows inside the household. His presence exposes fractures in the family and threatens the image they have maintained for years.
Variety reported that the series will combine psychological drama with a dark, contemporary atmosphere. The tone signals a shift for Page, who rose to fame playing a romantic lead but has since moved into grittier, more action-driven roles.
“Hancock Park” will be produced by Page’s company, A Mighty Stranger, along with Emily Brown and Drew Comins for Fifth Season. According to Deadline, Netflix acquired the series after a competitive bidding process.
A Major Return for Page
Page became a global breakout star as the Duke of Hastings in the first season of “Bridgerton.” His exit from the show sparked large fan reaction and speculation about his next move. He has since focused on film, including “The Gray Man,” “Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” and the spy drama “Black Bag.”
Industry analysts told Variety that “Hancock Park” offers Page an opportunity to take on a more complex, layered role and return to serialized storytelling. The project also fits Netflix’s recent interest in adult-focused thrillers.
Netflix has not announced additional cast members or a release date. Production plans and filming locations remain under wraps.
For viewers who have followed Page’s career since his breakout, “Hancock Park” could mark a defining turn. If the series delivers the tension and style described in early reports, Page may return to the spotlight with one of his most compelling performances yet.
