Talented Netflix Child Actor Passes Away at 11 After Devastating Crash: ‘A Terrible Loss’

A talented Polish child star, Nikodem Marecki, 11, has died after he was struck by a car while stepping off a school bus near Kraków. Emergency crews arrived at the scene on November 26, and an air ambulance transferred him to the hospital, as reported by the US Sun.

The report stated that a fire department spokesperson released a statement saying, “At 2.03 pm, we were dispatched to a report of a pedestrian hit in Szczepanowice. The report indicated it involved a young person who remained conscious. Due to the nature of the incident, the Polish Air Rescue Service (LPR) was dispatched to the scene, and its officers secured the landing area, which facilitated the efficient transfer of the teenager to the hospital.”

Nikodem died the following day, his family confirmed, as reported by TVP World.

Marecki first drew wide attention in “White Courage,” portraying the main character’s younger brother. He later appeared in the hospital drama “Szpital św. Anny,” his last screen performance.

Family Mourns ‘Beloved Son, Brother, and Grandson

In a statement, Nikodem’s family shared their heartbreak after the devastating loss.

“It is with deep sadness and regret that we inform you that on November 27, 2025, our beloved son, brother, and grandson, Nikodem Marecki, passed away at the age of 11.”

His primary school expressed “deep sadness,” while one tribute read simply, “Fly high angel.”

A Promising Career Cut Short

Nikodem earned acclaim for his role in the multi-award-winning war drama “White Courage,” released last year.

Director Marcin Koszałka called his death a “terrible, great loss,” adding, “He was very talented, and the world was opening up to him.”

The young actor also appeared in:

  • the Netflix horror series “Cracow Monsters”
  • the film “Zołza”, playing Karol Sobański
  • the drama “St. Anne’s Hospital”, as Igor Hajduk

He balanced acting with his studies at Kościuszko Primary School in Niedźwiedź.

Fans Recall Another Recent Child Star Loss

Nikodem’s death follows another tragedy earlier this year. Brazilian child actress Milena Brandão, also 11, died after suffering 21 cardiac arrests due to a brain tumor.

Her mother, Thays Brandão, wrote, “The memories we spent together will remain in my memory, and I’ll never forget the joy that was contagious to everyone around you.”

Nikodem appeared in the multi–award-winning Polish war drama “White Courage,” released last year. Director Marcin Koszałka called his passing a “terrible, great loss,” noting, “He was very talented and the world was opening up to him.” His funeral is scheduled for December 3.
