Meredith Marks Unpacks ‘RHOSLC’ Season 6 Dynamics & Where She Stands with the Cast

Meredith Marks had a rocky friendship with Mary Cosby during “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” season 5, but she’s in a much better place with her castmate now.

While talking to Gibson Johns on his podcast, “Gabbing with Gib” on September 17, the former attorney seemingly said that her problems with Cosby stemmed from not knowing what she was going through with her son, Robert Junior.

As fans saw last season, Robert Jr. admitted to being addicted to drugs, while Cosby tearfully pleaded him to get help. Cosby’s son agreed, and viewers watched her take Robert Jr. to a recovery center.

Cosby only shared the information with Angie Katsanevas, leaving Marks in the dark as to why her friend was acting distant.

“It’s hard to support and respond in appropriate ways when you’re unaware of something. So I mean, I do wish that I had known, because I feel like I probably would have handled things a bit differently,” Marks told Johns.

She continued, “That right there I think shifted the dynamic just a little bit going into this year … because I did have an awareness and an understanding and so I think we were in a just much better place.”

Marks Isn’t Letting Katsanevas’ Beef with Lisa Barlow Get in the Way of Their Friendship

Marks’ and Cosby’s friendship wasn’t the only one to fall apart during “RHOSLC” season 5. Katsanevas and Lisa Barlow experienced a rift when the two felt like the other person wasn’t being a good friend.

Barlow accused Katsanevas of sharing private conversations to other cast members, while the hair salon owner thought the Vida Tequila founder was brushing off her feelings.

In her conversation with Johns, Marks said she wasn’t letting their beef affect her friendships with both housewives.

“One thing Lisa and I really did learn through these last few years is to give each other room and to have enough confidence in our own relationship where we’re not terribly threatened by it,” she said.

Marks added, “Lisa has times during this year where she’s friendly with people I’m not getting along with, and that’s okay. Like you can be friends with people who aren’t friends.”

The ‘RHOSLC’ Season 6 Cast Weigh in on What Makes Them Special

“RHOSLC” is unlike any other franchise because it’s centered around Mormonism, but Heather Gay thinks that’s what sets it apart from others.

“I feel like we really broke the code and brought it into this modern day world, and made Mormonism part of the zeitgeist and sparked all the curiosity about it. I think it’s a rich, interesting, fascinating culture, and we’ve just barely started to scratch the surface,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

Marks added, “A lot of times it gets lost, not just with Salt Lake, but all of the cities, that it’s an ensemble [cast]. It’s not one person making [the show]. So as long as the dynamics are strong within that group, pulling one person out probably isn’t going to make that big of a difference.”

Cosby spoke of the strong fan reaction she got from sharing Robert Jr.’s struggles. “My son and I didn’t even plan [to talk about that on camera]. The cameras started rolling, and he and I just started talking,” she shared.

“He was shocking me and I was shocking him, and we were just being ourselves as if cameras wasn’t there. To be able to get that reaction and feedback from people is mind-blowing. It’s humbling. It feels good. I’m glad I did it. I wouldn’t change anything,” Cosby said.

When asked how they would describe season 6, Cosby stated, “Amazing,” while Gay said, “Unstoppable.”
