Popular Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis has given an insight into her past — and it’s left her fans shocked at what they’ve seen.
The 55-year-old Italian-born American chef, entrepreneur, writer, and television personality is known best for hosting her cooking show “Giada at Home” from 2008 until 2015. She’s also hosted the likes of “Everyday Italian” and “Giada Entertains.” Additionally, she’s appeared regularly on the likes of “Today,” “The Drew Barrymore Show,” and “Beat Bobby Flay” (per IMDb).
A series of throwback photographs of De Laurentiss have been shared on Instagram in which she’s barely recognizable.
The Images Show Giada De Laurentiis Hard at Work
The post — a reel of four images — was shared to both Giada De Laurentiis’ Instagram account and the account of her fresh food brand, Giadzy. It was part of a promotion for her Giadzy Culinary Scholarship Fund.
The reel of images captioned, “Supporting the next generation of chefs means everything to Giada. The four images are all of De Laurentiis hard at work wearing her crisp and clean chef whites. In them, she’s seen preparing and serving food. One of the images shows her smiling proudly over a delicious dish smothered in gravy.
De Laurentiis didn’t date the images, but she looks to be in her early twenties in them. Therefore, a conservative guess would be that they are approximately 30 years old.
De Laurentiis’ Followers Think She Looked Like Her Daughter
GettyMany of Giada De Laurentiis’ fans and followers noted the similarities between how she looked in the throwback photographs and how her daughter, Jade, looks now.
Jade was born to De Laurentiis and her husband, fashion designer Todd Thompson, in 2008, making her 17 — which isn’t too dissimilar from the age her mother appears to be in the old images.
One follower noted, “Omg the one picture looks so much like Jade!”
Another fan commented, “Jade is ur mini me!”
