Flay wasn’t the only chef in his household. Ponzek is also a chef, and both members of the couple were once nominated for the same award, according to Us Weekly.
Just one year after tying the knot, Flay and Ponzek were both nominated for the James Beard Foundation Award for Rising Star Chef. Flay tried to withdraw from consideration so he wouldn’t be competing against his wife, but the organization would not allow him to exit the competition.
Ponzek won the prize, making her an award-winning chef. The next year, Flay won the same award, which Ponzek presented to him.
Debra Ponzek Owns a Restaurant
For those who would like to try Ponzek’s food for themselves, her very own catering and take-out business is the place to do that. The establishment is called Aux Délices and has locations various locations around Connecticut. Ponzek owns the Aux Délices with her husband, Greg Addonizio, and yes, they cater weddings.

Ponzek isn’t just a busy chef; she’s also a mother to three children, although none of these children are with Flay. Flay only has one child, whom he had with Kate Connelly. Ponzek’s children are with her husband and business partner, Greg Addonizio.
Ponze and Addonizio have two boys and one girl, all of whom are adults now. On Instagram, Ponzek once wrote, “I’m beyond proud to be a Mom to our three AMAZING kids! There aren’t enough words to express how much I love you!”
