December 11 Live Recap – Week 2

KEEP REFRESHING THE PAGE FOR THE LATEST “NEXT LEVEL BAKER” LIVE RECAP UPDATES.

First Challenge Tonight

The skaters are in the kitchen, and it’s time for the first challenge tonight. For this challenge, they will have 75 minutes to create a next-level bake using ginger. Here is where they are cooking:

  • Top Kitchen – Stefanie from Home Bakers, Aubrey from Professional Bakers, and Chloe from Social Media Bakers with Candace
  • Middle Kitchen – Zoha from Social Media Bakers, and Jeff and Deirdra from Home Bakers with Gordon
  • Basement Kitchen – Chad from Professional Bakers and Nikki from Social Media Bakers with Carla

The tower is coming down with the ingredients, so they have 30 seconds to get what they want. Nikki, yet again, freezes when the ingredients come to her, and she ends up only getting ginger ale.

Zoha is taking on too much, but she wants to impress Chef Ramsay. Nikki gets emotional, but Carla tells her to think of home and who she is fighting for. This inspires her. Aubrey’s cakes cook too fast, so she has to rebake them.

Santa Delivers

In the middle of the bake, the tower comes down, and they get to write down one item they would like Santa to bring them, which would elevate their dish.

Santa does deliver, so now they have that ingredient to elevate these dishes. Meanwhile, Chloe and Stefani are cooking in the Top Kitchen. Ten minutes to go, and Stefani notices her whipped cream is gone. Chloe accidentally used hers instead of her own, so how to fix this? Chloe feels terrible, but Stefani can make some new whipped cream.

The time runs out, and the bakers get their dishes on the tower.

Time to Taste the Dishes

The dishes have arrived, so it’s time for the mentors to taste all of the dishes from tonight:

  • Basement Kitchen – For Chad, they said the cake is good. For Nikki, they said it’s rich and buttery. They got the ginger, so she did it.
  • Middle Kitchen – For Deirdra, they said it’s a flavor bomb. For Jeff, the flavor…dude! The construction let him down a touch. For Zoha, they said it is stunning. They can taste the ginger.
  • Top Kitchen – For Chloe, it’s reading heavy. For Stefani, a little messy, as the curd hasn’t set. For Aubrey, for 75 minutes, it feels simple. They are flat and very heavy.

It’s crazy, but the Top Kitchen seemed to be the worst on this one. The mentors discuss and have the results.

Results: The mentors discuss all the dishes, and here are the results:

  • Top Kitchen – Zoha and Chad were the best dishes, so cooking at this level next challenge.
  • Middle Kitchen – These chefs are safe for this challenge and cooking on this level next challenge: Deirdra, Jeff, and Nikki.
  • Basement Kitchen – Chloe and Stefani
AubreyFOX

The whole Top Kitchen ended up in the bottom three. However, it was Aubrey eliminated tonight on “Next Level Baker.”

Second Challenge of the Night

For this next challenge, the bakers will be making a holiday bake using tropical fruits from around the world. The floors have been assigned, so they head out.

This time around, Gordon is working with the Basement Kitchen, Candace with the Middle Kitchen, and Carla with the Top Kitchen. The ingredients come down, and Nikki messes up again. This time only getting guava, which she has never cooked with before.

Nikki is making mini bundt cakes, but has already made a bundt cake in the competition. Chad is the only professional baker left in the competition. Carla is questioning what he is making, but he tells her again to trust the process.

As Gordon complains about how terrible the basement is, he gets even more annoyed when carolers enter the kitchen! Chloe and Stefani love it, but Chef Ramsay isn’t happy. The carolers proceed to visit every floor.

Chloe’s dish isn’t puffing out, so she doesn’t have room to fill them. She pivots and is going to make them more into sandwiches. Deirdra is having issues, also. The time runs out, the dishes are on the platform, and time for tasting.

Second Challenge Results

The mentors are in place, so time to see how they all did:

  • Basement Kitchen – For Stefani, great crunch and chew. They are good enough to be a gift. For Chloe, she pivoted great, and it feels like a celebration.
  • Middle Kitchen – For Nikki, they want more from her, and it’s lacking the exoticness. For Jeff, the tart is set, and it’s delicious. For Deirdra, the flavor is there, but it’s a puddle.
  • Top Kitchen – For Zoha, it’s incredible, and the shell is incredible. Perfect for the holidays. For Chad, no nuts didn’t do him any favors. The frosting destroyed the sponge.

Results: The mentors discuss all the dishes, and here are the results:

  • Top Kitchen – Stefani from Home Bakers and Jeff from Home Bakers
  • Middle Kitchen – Zoha from Social Media Bakers and Chloe from Social Media Bakers
  • Basement Kitchen – Deirdra from Home Bakers and Nikki from Social Media Bakers

That means the second baker eliminated tonight on “Next Level Baker” is Chad, so I guess he shouldn’t have trusted the process? There are no more professional bakers left, as we have three social media bakers and three home bakers for next week’s finale.

Everybody Has Their Time

We go back to last week, and we see the Red Team shocked when the Blue Team comes back without having to contemplate who to nominate. Chef Ramsay sent Chris home, which they weren’t happy about. However, they are ready to move on.

A Team Challenge on ‘Hell’s Kitchen’

Today is Jayden’s birthday, so he is looking to have a good night. The chefs meet Chef Ramsay, and this challenge is all about showing how a great brigade works. Each team will have to create a cohesive Chinese menu: dumplings, stir fry, sweet and sour, and noodles. They come up with their menus, but then Chef Ramsay throws a wrench into it.

The challenge will start with two of the chefs making all four dishes. When Chef Ramsay says switch, the other two chefs will jump in and continue cooking. They will have 45 minutes total to cook all four dishes. When he says switch, the chefs have 10 seconds to communicate where they’re at.

The time moves very fast, and we have a lot of miscommunication throughout the time. However, it comes to an end, and all the plates are dished and ready to be judged on “Hell’s Kitchen” season 24.

Challenge Results

Time to taste the dishes. Chef Ramsay brings in Buddha Lo to help him judge these dishes:

  • Dumplings – It was Jada versus Cydni. They liked the Blue Team, so a 1-0 lead for them.
  • Sweet & Sour – This was Henry versus Lisa. It was a win for the Red Team, so tied 1-1.
  • Stir Fry – It was Jayden versus Anaiya. They enjoyed both, so a point for both. It’s now 2-2.
  • Noodles – This was Anthony versus Ellie. Anthony was too salty, so this one went to Ellie and the Red Team.

That means it was a 3-2 win for the Red Team, and back-to-back wins for them. For this win, they will be going on a private tour of a museum to learn about the culture of the area. They also got a surprise back in the dorms, which is a set of HexClad pans!

For losing, the Blue Team will be working on composting. The smell, per Jada, is like throw-up.

Tours & Composting

We get to see the Red Team head to the museum, which is cool to see. It’s so fun learning about the past and seeing how things were done back in the day. This included seeing that they cooked in a canoe.

While composting, they find a birthday cake, so they start singing for Jayden. Yeah, it’s not the birthday cake he wanted. Jada said it smelled like vomit, which is now making her vomit!

Dinner Service on ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ Season 24

For tonight’s dinner service, they will be serving a charity dinner. The Red Team will be cooking for Feeding America, and the Blue Team is cooking for Stand Up To Cancer. We have VIPs in attendance, including JoJo Siwa.

Each course will be led by one of the chefs. They will all work together to serve the dessert.

Anaiya for the Red Team and Henry for the Blue Team are leading the first course, which is scallops. Both teams have some struggles, but they get all of the dishes out correctly. Things are moving smoothly, so far.

For the second course, we have capellini. It will be Lisa for the Red Team, and Anthony for the Blue Team leading. They said Anthony is leading, but not saying a lot of words. Anaiya is overstepping, as she is talking for Lisa.

Red Team gets their second course sent out, as the Blue Team is just now plating. Anthony is happy, but Chef Ramsay says no and calls them all up. Turns out they were missing one dish, so they had to get another dish made. They got it fixed, and the dishes headed out.

Three More Courses

We are moving on to the third course, as we have Cydni for the Red Team and Jayden for the Blue Team working on duck. Red Team had some issues with the rice, but the duck comes up, and Chef Ramsay says it’s great.

Red Team gets its third course sent out, as the Blue Team is struggling again. They are behind again, but finally get the dishes sent out.

Moving on to the fourth course: filet mignon. This will be Ellie for Red Team, and Jada for Blue Team. Chef Ramsay said he wants this course to be harmonious and sent out together. The theme for the night: Red Team nails it, but Blue Team is a little behind. Red Team gets their dishes sent out. Blue Team is behind, but gets it sent out.

We are now moving on to the final dish: soufflé. Anaiya is excited to hear this, as she’s been wanting to make soufflé and show off her skills to Chef Ramsay. Two seconds in, she seems to have broken the blender!

They get a new blender brought in, and the Red Team gets their soufflés sent out. Of course, the Blue Team was behind them.

Results – Yet again, the Red Team was in sync, and they are the winning team tonight. The Blue Team loses, with only the scallop dish being a mirror for the Red Team. Everything else was a disaster, so now they have to go back and pick two nominees for elimination. He says Henry, who did the scallops, has to pick the nominees.

Discussing Possible Nominees

The Blue Team heads to the back. Henry talks with all of the chefs, which annoys Anthony. They are all throwing each other under the bus.

There are only three chefs, and Henry has to nominate only two. That is a tough one.

Results on ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ Season 24 Tonight

The chefs come back, and Henry has nominated Anthony and Jayden for elimination tonight. They both fight to stay in the competition, but Chef Ramsay sends Jayden home. It may be his birthday, but no presents for him. Anthony is safe.

Holiday baking season is officially underway, and Food Network is keeping the festive energy high with the upcoming “Holiday Baking Championship” season 12 finale.

With $25,000 and the coveted title of Holiday Baking Champion on the line, the final bakers are preparing to deliver their most ambitious desserts yet.

‘Holiday Baking Championship’ Season 12 Finale Brings High-Stakes ‘Naughty vs. Nice’ Challenges

“Holiday Baking Championship” is a long-running Food Network competition series that invites talented bakers from across the country to create festive desserts inspired by the season.

Hosted by Jesse Palmer and judged by Duff Goldman, Nancy Fuller, and Kardea Brown, the series combines skill, passion, and creativity in a warm holiday setting.

The finale episode, titled “Naughty & Nice Christmas,” brings three final challenges designed to test every skill the remaining competitors have.

For the preheat, Palmer asks the bakers to craft “naughty” elf desserts featuring unexpected flavors such as black licorice, sauerkraut, or red curry.

An elimination challenge follows, requiring the contestants to create “nice” hot cocoa desserts. The final bake is the showstopper: an oversized, visually striking naughty vs. nice cake with both themes represented in the design.

Guest judge Zac Young joins Fuller and Brown to determine who will walk away with the title and $25,000.

Who’s Left on Season 12 — and Our Winner Prediction

Season 12 has seen several intense eliminations. Contestants sent home so far include Jeanna “Gia” Barnes, Daniel Gray, Violet Zoner, Erin Luttrell, Camrey Smith, and Alyx Abreu. The remaining bakers competing for the top prize include:

Team Naughty
• Nico Alkalay – Denver, Colorado
• Tarek Husseini – St. Louis, Missouri
• Ashleigh Wright – Frisco, Texas
• Charles Zimmerman – Charlottesville, Virginia

Team Nice
• Jean Carlos – Orlando, Florida
• Chase Maus – Santa Fe, New Mexico

With younger bakers taking more risks in their flavor choices and presentation, our prediction leans toward Nico Alkalay from Team Naughty. His precision and ambition have consistently impressed the judges.

From Team Nice, Jean Carlos stands out as a serious contender. And though Tarek Husseini has landed on the chopping block twice, he remains a possible dark horse who could surprise viewers in the finale.

Season 12 of “Holiday Baking Championship” premiered on Monday, Nov. 3 on Food Network. Episodes drop weekly.

The “Holiday Baking Championship” season 12 finale airs on Food Network on December 22.

You can also watch the “Holiday Baking Championship” finale on Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, Philo, the on-demand libraries of Hulu or YouTube TV, or via the Food Network GO app.

Get ready, the “Tournament of Champions: All-Star Christmas” finale showdown starts soon; at 8:00pm ET on Food Network and we’re live-tracking every chaotic, delightful, Guy Fieri-fueled moment.

TOC is About to Shake Things Up

Four powerhouse duos are about to jump back into the arena for a shot at the TOC trophy and major bragging rights. But let’s be real; it’s that massive bag of holiday cash (including some for charity) that has everyone paying attention. High stakes, wild ingredients, and enough pressure to melt a snowman; yep, it’s very much a TOC kind of night.

Now here’s the plot twist that makes this Holiday special even juicier. Every past season of the show has seen a female competitor take home the win. But this time around? Not likely. For the first time in TOC history a man has better odds of claiming the win (as only one woman remains on a team). That alone adds a whole new layer of suspense to tonight’s semi-finals and finale.

So grab your snacks and get cozy; it seems like we’re in for a wild ride.

WARNING: From this point on this post does contain spoilers and is being updated live as “Tournament of Champions: All-Star Christmas” Season 1, Episode 6 entitled “A Christmas Champion Is Crowned,” airs tonight.

So, keep refreshing the page to get all the latest updates including scores, eliminations, and the finale results.

The Final Four Teams & The Judges

Who is battling for the win tonight in the “Tournament of Champions: All-Star Christmas” finale?

  • Michael Voltaggio & Bryan Voltaggio
  • Kevin Lee & Dale Talde
  • Jet Tila & Ashley Holt
  • Tobias Dorzon & Marcel Vigneron

The Judges: Chef Jacques Torres, Chef Lorena Garcia, Iron Chef Cat Cora, and Chef Nancy Silverton.

Let the Chaos (and Cooking) Begin

The first battle of the night features Kevin Lee & Dale Talde going up against Jet Tila & Ashley Holt.

The Randomizer has done what it always does and given the chefs pure crazy to work with.

  • Savory Dish Ingredient: Prime Rib
  • Sweet Dish Ingredient: Guava
  • Equipment: Cookie Press
  • Style: Red
  • Wildcard Ingredient: Marzipan Pigs

They have 2 minutes to confer and 45 minutes to cook.

What Happened in the Arena? In one kitchen we had Kevin doing the savory dish, a Tteokbokki with Prime Rib Ragu, while Dale created the sweet dish, a Guava Halo-Halo. On the other side of the arena Jet made the savory dish, a Char Siu Prime Rib, while Ashley created the sweet dish, a Guava Tart.

The Scores: 85 and 86, with team Jet Tila & Ashley Holt taking the win. They’ll move on to battle again tonight. Against who? Let’s find out.

The Semi-Finals Continue

The second battle of the night features brothers, Michael Voltaggio & Bryan Voltaggio, going up against wildcard team, Tobias Dorzon & Marcel Vigneron.

Against all odds, The Randomizer decided to be somewhat reasonable, giving the semi-finalists something they could actually work with.

  • Savory Dish Ingredient: Leg of Lamb
  • Sweet Dish Ingredient: Blonde Chocolate
  • Equipment: Rosette Iron
  • Style: Green
  • Wildcard Ingredient: Eggnog

Again, they have 2 minutes to confer and 45 minutes to cook.

What Happened in the Arena? In one kitchen we had Bryan doing the savory dish, Lamb Meatballs with Green Curry, while Michael created the sweet dish, a Pistachio Air Cake. On the other side of the arena Tobias made the savory dish, a Braised Lamb with Cheesy-Nog Grits, while Marcel created the sweet dish, an Eggnog Ice Cream with Mint.

The Scores: 79 and 95, with team Michael Voltaggio & Bryan Voltaggio taking the win. They’ll move on to battle in the finale.

Who Will Take the Trophy & Big Bucks?

Here we go; the finale is underway. The two winning teams are back on the floor and they look locked in. And everything has officially leveled up. This is the round where somebody makes TOC history as the first “All-Star Christmas” champion.

Michael Voltaggio & Bryan Voltaggio vs Jet Tila & Ashley Holt

Once again, The Randomizer said “good luck” and hurled absolute culinary mayhem at the chefs for the finale battle.

  • Savory Dish Ingredient: Pork Rib Roast
  • Sweet Dish Ingredient: Red Currants
  • Equipment: Smoking Gun
  • Style: Black Tie
  • And the Wildcard comes with special Nice, Naughty, or Naughty & Nice options. They get Nice and are given a gift that contains a chocolate advent calendar, which must be used in the dishes.

What Happened in the Arena? In one kitchen we had Jet doing the savory dish, Pork Chops in Thai Mole, while Ashley created the sweet dish, a Smoked Eton Mess. On the other side of the arena Bryan made the savory dish, Pork with Smoked Mushroom Cigar, while Michael created the sweet dish, a Smoked Chocolate Ganache Tart.

Final Scores: 88 and 98 (highest score in TOC history).

And We Have a Winner!

The finale is wrapped, and the first-ever “Tournament of Champions: All-Star Christmas” winners are Michael Voltaggio & Bryan Voltaggio!

Let’s get real; these chefs crushed that finale challenge, grabbed the trophy, and walked away with the $100,000 to split, plus $50,000 cash for their chosen charity. Not a bad way to celebrate the season.

History was made tonight, and it seems like the TOC arena kitchen may never be the same.

And stay tuned, Guy Fieri mentioned Season 7 of “Tournament of Champions” is on the way…

Guy Fieri takes a strong stance on a divisive cooking question, revealing the kitchen habit that sparks his most passionate reaction.

Guy Fieri has never been shy about speaking his mind, but even longtime fans were surprised to learn there is one kitchen question that pushes him toward confrontation. In a recent video shared by the Food Network, Fieri responded to a series of rapid-fire culinary debates and stopped cold when asked whether cooks should ever use pre-minced garlic.

“Okay, you want to fight?” he said in the Instagram clip.

The exchange offered more than a joke. It revealed how fiercely the “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” host protects what he sees as the fundamentals of good cooking. The garlic debate served as the clearest example of his belief that technique matters and shortcuts undermine the heart of the craft.

Fieri Draws His Line in the Kitchen

Fieri ran through several cooking questions in the video. According to the video, he said he does not wash chicken, and he told viewers not to add oil to boiling pasta water. He confirmed that he rinses rice before cooking it and explained that he maintains his cast-iron cookware with water and scraping instead of soap.

Another question prompted an even more animated response. When asked if breaking spaghetti before boiling it was acceptable, Fieri paused and jokingly mimed a punch to show where he stood.

The garlic question, though, drew the strongest reaction. Fieri did not offer a detailed explanation in the clip, but his tone made clear that he sees pre-minced garlic as a step too far from the integrity of fresh ingredients. His reaction echoed a long-running theme in his public cooking philosophy: flavor starts with technique, and technique starts with doing the work.

A Second Video Shows His Holiday Hot Takes

The garlic moment came only days after Fieri gave another set of candid opinions in a separate Food Network holiday video. This time, he weighed in on holiday dinners and did not hesitate when asked what he considers the most overrated part of festive meals.

“All the desserts. What is up with that?” he said, adding that hosts should focus on appetizers and the main course instead of offering elaborate sweets.

In the same video, Fieri said he would rather guests arrive slightly late than early so he can finish cooking in peace. He also said he prefers artificial Christmas trees because they are easier to manage during the busy season.

A Chef With Principles and Punchlines

Fieri’s comments resonated partly because they blended humor with conviction. Fans often celebrate his larger-than-life personality, but clips like these highlight the seriousness beneath the jokes. He may tease about “starting a fight,” yet the sentiment reflects his long-standing commitment to cooking with intention.

For Fieri, flavor begins long before food hits the pan. It begins with the choices cooks make. And if one of those choices involves a jar of pre-minced garlic, he is ready to speak up every single time.

It’s Bobby Flay‘s birthday! The popular Food Network star turns 61 on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, and to mark the occasion, we’re taking a look at his past year, while also sprinkling in some photos from the start of his celebrity status … decades ago.

For instance, check out Flay wearing a dark blue suit at the Grand Tasting: After Dark which he co-hosted during the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival in New York City on October 18.

Bobby’s Interest in Cooking Started as a Child

Flay’s love of preparing food started early in life. That’s why, in October 2024, Today noted, “You infamously received an Easy-Bake Oven as a child.” They then asked, “What is your earliest memory of cooking?”

“I think I was like 5 or 6,” he answered. “I was watching the commercials during cartoons and after school specials and stuff like that. And I could not believe that you could actually bake a cake from a light bulb. I needed to see it for myself. I asked for an Easy-Bake Oven and my parents got it for me.”

“[It was] pure intrigue,” he added. “I don’t know when I started watching, but I started watching some cooking shows, like Julia Child and ‘The Galloping Gourmet.'”

He continued, “I was interested in them. I still don’t know why, but I was. And there was something definitely there…”

Flay has established himself as one of the most famous celebrity chefs in the business. That’s why Today asked the culinary star, “What would you tell someone who’s thinking about a career in the restaurant industry?”

“Well, it depends how old they are and where they are in their life,” he noted. “Let’s just say somebody who’s in high school, because that’s when I started. Take summer jobs. Don’t drop out of high school, like I did. Stay in school, but take summer jobs in restaurants that you think are good, that you like, in your community, and see if you like the business of the restaurant business.”

“It’s a very, very specific kind of business,” he explained. “I think it’s a great place to learn how to work alongside other people. It gives you discipline. It allows you to be creative. It allows you to make people really happy who you’re serving or cooking for. But I think having practical experience in a restaurant is really important for you to make your next decision because it’s not for everybody. But if it is, it’s a good thing to know.”

Kardea Brown is addressing the wave of negative comments she has received since stepping into hosting roles on several Food Network baking series. After viewers expressed frustration about Valerie Bertinelli’s absence from “Kids Baking Championship,” Brown urged fans to keep conversations respectful and to remember the family audience the show serves.

Brown shared the message in a Facebook post on Dec. 5 after a surge of comments appeared under a promotional update for the network’s upcoming “Baking Championship: Next Gen.”

Brown Calls for Courtesy From Viewers

Brown said she noticed a high volume of “nasty” remarks from adult viewers reacting to the announcement. She said she understood that many fans want Bertinelli back, but added that she has no control over casting decisions made at the network.

“The amount of adults leaving negative comments is alarming,” Brown said in the post. She encouraged viewers to avoid directing their disappointment toward her personally and instead consider the spirit of the program.

Brown said the series remains popular among children and families and asked critics to simply opt out if the new direction does not appeal to them. “If it is not for you, do not watch,” she said.

She also urged commenters to practice the same values the show promotes to its young audience. Brown said adults should model kindness and emphasized the importance of choosing respectful language online. According to E! News, she described social platforms as places where unnecessary negativity spreads quickly and said she hopes viewers can respond more constructively.

Expressing Respect for Bertinelli

Brown acknowledged Bertinelli’s long tenure and influence on the show. She told outlets that Bertinelli offered her support during a backstage conversation earlier this year, reassuring her that the series was in “capable hands.” Brown has repeatedly said she respects Bertinelli’s work and understands why some viewers feel attached to the former host.

According to the Daily Mail, Bertinelli’s departure followed a period of professional change, and Brown stepped into the role as the network prepared new seasons and spinoffs. The transition prompted mixed reactions from longtime fans, many of whom posted comparisons between the two hosts. Brown responded by saying she hopes viewers will give the new episodes a chance.

Looking Ahead to New Seasons

Food Network plans to debut “Baking Championship: Next Gen” in early 2026. Brown said she is excited to continue working with young bakers and hopes the audience will remain open to the refreshed format.

Brown’s response to the criticism focuses on positivity and community, themes she said define why children and families continue to watch the series. Her message emphasized respect rather than confrontation and encouraged viewers to help keep the show’s environment welcoming.
