“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Tuesday, December 9, reveal that Michael Baldwin pulls out all the stops to surprise Lauren Fenmore for their wedding anniversary.
Love is in the Air on ‘The Young & the Restless’
On Tuesday, Genoa City is filled with love as Michael and Lauren celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. “The Young and the Restless” spoilers say the standalone episode highlights the couple’s ups and downs.
At the GCAC, Michael stands in front of a black Jack table as Lauren walks in. He turns over three cards that say “Happy 20th Anniversary.”
A flashback to Michael’s marriage proposal to Lauren in 2005. Then, the couple talks about their most romantic moments, including their unforgettable honeymoon.
“We are still as hot and heavy as we’ve ever been,” Michael tells Lauren.
Another flashback is shown, this time when Lauren was pregnant with their son, Fenmore.
“You were the best dad ever,” she gushes at her husband. Michael admits that seeing their son born was one of the happiest days of his life.
Phyllis Interrupts the Romantic Moment
As Michael and Lauren dance, Phyllis comes down the stairs and interrupts the moment. “The Young and the Restless” spoilers say Michael isn’t thrilled about the redhead’s antics.
“Hey guys, what is this, casino night?” Phyllis asks them. Then, she realizes that it’s their anniversary.
Lauren tells Phyllis that Michael recreated his proposal to her. “You’re a good guy,” Phyllis tells Michael. “Congratulations to both of you, 20 years, I am in awe of your relationship.” The trio hug it out.
Looking Back at the Challenges
After Phyllis heads out, Michael and Lauren look back at the challenges they faced together. “The Young and the Restless” spoilers reveal that Michael once feared Lauren had died after Sheila Carter and Tom Fisher blew up their boat.
The couple also looked back at Lauren’s affair with Carmine Basco in 2013, which almost broke them up for good.
But perhaps the biggest challenge they have faced was when Michael was diagnosed with cancer. At the time, Michael worried it would cause “performance” issues for him, so he urged Lauren to move on with her life without him.
Finally, Michael reveals his special anniversary gift to Lauren, a trip to Vegas with Scott and Fenmore. “What an amazing gift,” Lauren tells Michael before sharing a kiss.
