‘The Voice’ Sneak Peek: Snoop Dogg Left in Tears

“The Voice” remains one of the most popular competition shows after 28 seasons on the air. Now, the contenders are in the midst of Playoffs, and one contestant, Ralph Edwards, has left Snoop Dogg in tears with his rendition of Donny Hathaway’s “A Song For You.”

NBC released a sneak peek of the December 8 episode, which will be the final night of Playoffs. The clip begins with “The Voice” host Carson Daly introducing Edwards as the crowd cheers.

Following the stellar performance, Edwards received a ton of praise from the coaches and the audience. Niall Horan started, “Wow! Wreck-it-Ralph back at it again.” He then noted, “Snoop Dogg is in tears over here after that.”

The beloved rapper could then be seen drying tears from his eyes as he re-adjusted the sunglasses. Fellow judge Michael Bublé went on to check on Snoop before saying, “There’s no wrong decisions here. Ralph, you’re The Voice dude, that’s where you are.”

After composing himself, Snoop said, “Oh, man, you touched me. You brought back some memories of special people in my life that’s not here no more. And the way you sung that, it’s a pleasure having you on my team, man. It’s a pleasure being able to work with you to call you my brother, so thank you, Ralph.”

Snoop Dogg Previously Opened Up About Joining ‘The Voice’

Snoop has accomplished quite a bit in his legendary career. Not only is he among the most revered rappers, but he’s also always up for new challenges. This led him to join “The Voice” in 2024 for the show’s 26th season.

He said on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “If you know anything about me, you know I love music of all forms. So this is a great opportunity for me to show that I really understand music and, you know, to be a real coach and to really give direction to some of these artists that could be today’s next big thing.”

Snoop went on to describe why he was the perfect fit for the show. He said, “That’s what people are going to learn about me is that that’s why I feel like people attract to me because I’m not one-sided. I’m not just for you, I’m for everybody. I’m the people’s champ.”

The all-around entertainer then discussed his friendship with Gwen Stefani, who was on the show at the time. According to him, “Me and Gwen have been friends for a long time. She’s a California girl, in a real way.”
