Craig Conover called out a major red flag in his dating life.
On the Dec. 3 episode of “Southern Charm,” the South Carolina businessman said cats are the kiss of death—at least in his past relationships.
Conover made the claim after finding that his pal Austen Kroll adopted two kittens in the Season 11 episode “A Novel Approach.” “Austen, that’s the kiss of death!” Conover warned. “My last three ex-girlfriends have gotten a cat right before breaking up with me.”
“Naomie [Olindo] got a new cat, then during COVID my ex [Natalie Hegnauer] had just gotten a cat, Stormy, and then Paige [DeSorbo] got a cat,” he said. “I was like, ‘Oh, cool, we’re one happy family.’ And they’re like, ‘Actually, this is a family of two.'”
While Kroll noted that he was becoming a cat dad without his long-distance girlfriend Audrey Pratt’s involvement, Conover joined him at a pet store to purchase over $400 worth of treats, toys, and a cat carrier for little Piper and Martini.
Paige DeSorbo Got Her Cat Daphne Months Before Ending Her 3-Year Relationship With Craig Conover
It’s been nearly a year since Conover and former “Summer House” star DeSorbo publicly confirmed their breakup. But five months prior, in July 2024, DeSorbo posted a TikTok video as she cuddled with a white kitten. “Meet Daphne,” she captioned the clip.
The white cat has been DeSorbo’s baby ever since, and she even launched a loungewear line named after the fluffy feline.
During a December 12 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” Conover told host Andy Cohen that DeSorbo didn’t join him in the Bravo Clubhouse because she was at home with Daphne. “[Paige and her ‘Giggly Squad’ co-host Hannah Berner] just finished a 56 [city] tour, sell-out tour,” he told Cohen. “Three months. She’s in bed with her cat right now.”

GettyConover was a doting cat dad when he was in a relationship with Olindo. According to Bravo.com, the couple shared cats Gizmo and Z, but Gizmo went to live with Olindo’s parents.
“Naomie and I rescued this cat Z, which I fell in love with because, honestly, I never dreamed of having a cat, let alone two and … I fell for this cat because he was scared to even come out from under the bed when we first got him and he was neglected as a kitten,” Conover told Unleashed, per the outlet. “It was cool watching him grow up.”
Conover noted that Olindo eventually took the cat after their split. “Unfortunately, when you have that last talk, Naomie took Z back. And Z should live with Naomie,” he said.
