Rachel Zoe kicked off her debut on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” season 15 with a big reveal that her friends once tried to play matchmaker between her and Mauricio Umansky following his split from Kyle Richards.
Zoe Shuts Down Romance Rumors
The stylist and fashion designer admitted to the group during the premiere episode of season 15 that she saw Umansky in Aspen, CO and someone tried to set her up with him. She elaborated about the situation during “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show,” revealing that three people actually tried to make a connection between her and Umansky during the February 2025 event in Aspen.
“We were at this music festival in this, like, big VIP area with, like, I don’t know, maybe 100 people in it,” Zoe recalled. “There was a couple of people … that I’d known for many, many years, that were in from New York. And they literally were like, ‘Oh my god, do you know Mau? You should go out with Mau.'”
She continued, “I swear to God, 30 minutes later, someone else was like, ‘Oh, do you know Mau? He’s here. Him and Kyle are getting divorced.'”
“I literally was like, ‘Are you OK? No,'” Zoe said, then she added that the “whole thing was so awkward. My knee-jerk response was, like, no. Even just my relationship with Kathy… It was a hard no.”
Richards Unfazed by Zoe’s News
Zoe went on to explain that her hesitance stemmed from the fact that she had known Richards socially through Richards’ sister, Kathy Hilton.
“No one who was trying to set me up was trying to do anything weird to Kyle,” Zoe said. “They just thought, like, single woman, single guy, you guys may know some of the same people. Or, like, you guys live a similar-type lifestyle. Or, like, I could see you guys going on a date, you know?”
Separately on the “RHOBH After Show,” Richards discussed why she wasn’t surprised by Zoe’s confession about her estranged husband.
“When you’re single in a small town like that, it makes sense that someone would try to set up Mau and Rachel,” Richards explained. “I guess they figured they knew that we weren’t close friends.”
Richards’ Opinion on Umansky’s Dating Life
GettySpeaking with PEOPLE back in April, Richards opened up about her co-parenting dynamic with Umansky, revealing that they “get along really well” and “want the best for each other.”
“Mauricio and I get along really well. You know, we both want the best for each other,” she said. “We love our daughters. So we were very good friends. I have his back. He has mine.”
When asked about the secret to managing such a relationship, Richards said, “I think we’re just really good friends, and we always have been, so that came in handy. That’s one good thing out of that.”
