Vanderpump Rules’ Marcus Johnson Reveals a Major Update on His Relationship With Kim Suarez

Vanderpump Rules” season 12 cast member Marcus Johnson found himself questioning his relationship with Kim Suarez. Following an argument involving Marcus’ friendship with SUR bartender Natalie Maguire in the premiere episode, the tension carried into episode 2, where the trio finally came face-to-face at hostess Audrey Lingle’s rooftop birthday bash.

As Kim, Natalie, Demy Selem, and Venus Binkley were unpacking the drama, Marcus joined them and insisted that it was Natalie, not him, who characterized their bond as being “like brother and sister.” But Venus accused him of “lying.” Natalie claimed that Marcus had “said it multiple times.”

Citing the recent passing of both of his parents, Marcus explained to a producer during one of his confessionals, “every single day, I’m waking up just looking for a little bit of happiness.” He explained that it was difficult for him to sit there and “pretend” like he even cared what they were talking about, and he also claimed that “Kimberly should know that.”

Back at the party, Marcus went on to make a shocking declaration about Kim to SUR DJ Mckenna, saying three times, “I’m falling out of love.” When Mckenna asked him for “the reasoning,” Marcus said, “Because she’s not the girl I thought she was.”

Kim was standing within earshot when Marcus said this and said to him, “I can hear everything you’re saying, just so you know.” Then, she walked away in tears, to find Natalie.

“We can be at our worst, and I will always show up for him to make sure he feels supported and, like, loved,” Kim said, before bringing up what Marcus had said.

“Hearing Marcus say that he was falling out of love with me was probably, like, one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to hear,” she tearfully shared to a producer during one of her confessionals. “Given how much of myself I’ve put aside for him all those months, for me, it feels like this is the moment where I just have to give up.”

Inside Marcus & Kim’s Relationship Challenges

Kim admitted to a producer during the December 9 episode that she and Marcus “have had a lot of ups and downs” throughout their relationship.

“It’s like a Ross and Rachel breakup, where you’re not actually broken up,” she explained, referencing the sitcom “Friends.” She added, “like, you can’t sleep with anybody else. But we’re broken up, and we’re not speaking for a few days.”

In a separate confessional, she explained, “Marcus can be so unpredictable after we have a fight. A couple [of] days later, he can be like, ‘Hey, babe,’ or he can just not want to talk to me at all and hate my guts. It’s like once his mom passed, Marcus was no longer himself.”

Marcus, on the other hand, told his brother Aaron that, “I think I’m doing a great job,” Marcus said of making Kim feel secure in their relationship. “I am in love with her, but I would rather be peaceful and steady than in love,” he said, than living his life like a “manic.”

Marcus also shared with Lisa Vanderpump that Kim “just can’t understand” the grief he has over the recent losses of both his mom and dad.

“I try to tell her, you know, that there are certain things that you’re gonna want out of me as a boyfriend that I’m not gonna be capable to give you right now,” he said. “I’m just trying to be a normal person myself.”
