Dave Marrs Struggles Through Challenging ‘Fixer to Fabulous’ Moment With Jenny, Jokes ‘I Quit’

Jenny Marrs has her work cut out for her when styling homes on HGTV‘s “Fixer to Fabulous,” but luckily she and husband Dave own two stores. The shopping experience is time consuming and, it turns out, Dave has little patience for any of it.

Jenny Marrs’ Husband Struggles During Shopping Outing on ‘Fixer to Fabulous’

On December 9, Jenny took to Instagram to share a clip from “Fixer to Fabulous,” showing how much shopping is involved in home design.

She noted on her Instagram Stories, “Ever thankful for my team because I couldn’t style a house with just @Dave.Marrs and I.”

“I’d love to know if anyone else owns two stores and, yet, finds it physically painful to go shopping. Is this exclusively a @dave.marrs affliction or is it a universal spouse thing?! 😂” she wrote in the caption.

“Tonight’s BRAND NEW episode of ‘Fixer to Fabulous’ is a really unique one,” Jenny noted. “We have never done this before and I can’t wait to see what you all think of it!”

In the clip, Jenny explains they are shopping at their downtown store for styling items, including art and a bench. Dave carries the bench out as well as carpets, noting, “We now have four rugs. Do we need to bring all of them?”

She explains, “Yes, Dave. We have a lot of spaces. Every time Dave comes with me to pull stuff for styling a house, he gets very impatient.”

He notes, “You know, when I come in here, even though it’s my own store, I realize how much I hate shopping.”

Jenny admits, “I don’t usually bring him along, to be perfectly honest. But, I needed someone to carry some stuff, so he’s here.”

Jenny and her team discuss plates and artwork they need for the home as Dave stands by, shaking his head. “Literally, slowing dying inside right now,” he says.

“Dave is always surprised how much stuff it takes to fill a house,” Jenny explains. “It takes a lot.”

In his defense, he explains that “it takes a lot” when she requests that he build something for their renovations.

Jenny sends him off to get a tea kettle and he returns with two options, neither of which she likes, but she assures him, “You’re doing great.”

A defeated Dave says, “I quit. I’m gonna go sit until you guys tell me you’re ready to go.”

Fans Understand Dave’s Struggle

“Fixer to Fabulous” fans lit up the comments section with messages about Dave’s challenging moment.

“It’s a worldwide thing! My hubby cannot abide shopping,” one fan wrote.

Another fan shared, “My husband always say he doesn’t shop, he purchases. He goes into a store, sees something he likes, finds his size, and buys. There is no roaming around, no taking a tour of the store. Just purchases!!!”

One fan commented that her husband “can stand in a freezing cold river for 6 hours casting a fly rod, but his legs and back give out when I’m in Anthropologie for 6 minutes.”
