The highly anticipated debut of “She’s Making a List” debuts on Hallmark on December 6. The movie pairs fan favorites Andrew Walker and Lacey Chabert together, and fans cannot wait to check this one out.
Chabert and Walker both talked with TV Insider ahead of the premiere of “She’s Making a List” and revealed some fun tidbits about the project.
As they both noted, this is only the second movie they have done together. That fact likely surprises some Hallmark fans, and it surprises them a bit, too.
Walker and Chabert have been good friends off-screen for years. However, this is their first Hallmark movie together since 2018’s “My Secret Valentine.”
Walker teased that Hallmark takes a bit of a risk with “She’s Making a List,” incorporating something they have never done in their movies before.
Hallmark Did Something With Lacey Chabert’s Character They’ve Never Shown Before
Walker noted that Chabert’s character frequently “breaks the third wall,” meaning that her character of Isabel will occasionally speak directly to the camera, stepping somewhat out of character for a comedic quip.
“There was a lot of discussion about that, to be honest, as to whether or not they were going to put a lot of that in the movie,” Walker explained.
He pointed out that Hallmark has “never done that before,” including something like those third-wall breaks. Apparently, many of those moments were kept in the final version of the film. Walker admitted, “I’m so happy that they ended up deciding to keep all of that.”
Walker also shared that they’re “breaking the mold” of Hallmark movies by incorporating those tidbits where Isabel speaks directly to the camera.
Andrew Walker Gushed Over Chabert’s Work in ‘She’s Making a List’
In “She’s Making a List,” Walker gushed that Chabert is “so incredible in this movie.”
Walker added that he thinks this will become his sons’ favorite Hallmark movie of his, and they’ve been big fans of his “Three Wise Men” films already. “It’s so fun. It’s magic,” he said of “She’s Making a List.”
He previously told EntertainmentNow that Chabert is “so good in this movie.” Walker explained that the premise of the film and Chabert’s character pushed her to “break out of the ‘normal Lacey’ that you would see, in the best possible way.”
During his chat with TV Insider, Walker revealed that Hallmark had been “sitting on” this particular project “for a minute.” He described “She’s Making a List” as a “high concept movie,” added that it’s a bit like “‘Men in Black’ meets Christmas.”
Chabert explained that she loves the message of the movie, noting it’s “amazing.” She shared, “I don’t want to ruin it, but no kids are naughty. It’s just the circumstances they’re in in and it’s our jobs as society and adults to help guide them in the right direction.”
What is goin on with lacey chabert and these movies that are supposed to be comedies. I’m so disappointed in these so called comedies. They are corney and i just don’t like them. I love lacey in movies but not these stupid movies and who wrote the scripts.. Her movies haul out the hauly and the 2nd in that series are just as bad. Not Hallmark to me
