Hallmark’s “Queen of Christmas” Lacey Chabert just starred in her 43rd project for the network. “She’s Making a List” debuted on the network on December 6, and ahead of the premiere, Chabert talked to People about her love for her daughter, Julia.
Chabert opened up about some of her favorite routines with Julia and shared a bit about how her actual real-life day-to-day life looks.
Lacey Chabert Dotes on Daughter Julia in the Mornings
Chabert shared that there is a big reason she loves doing projects like “She’s Making a List.” She told People, “It makes me happy to work on things my daughter can enjoy.”
She explained, “She’s still in this age where she loves to cuddle and it is the best. That’s one of our favorite things to do: cuddle on the couch and watch a good movie and make snacks.”
It turns out, Julia, 9, has one thing in particular she loves about her mom’s movies. “She loves when I wear beautiful dresses in the movies because she says in real life I only wear black leggings. She’s not totally wrong!”
Mornings in Chabert’s household include some simple traditions that bring great joy to the Hallmark star’s life. She admitted, “My favorite luxury is to make a cup [of coffee] and get back in bed and drink it.”
After getting her coffee, Chabert shared, “Often I’ll say a quick prayer to set my thoughts in a positive place.”
Chabert and her husband, David Nehdar, take turns making breakfast for Julia. Sometimes it’s something quick and easy, and sometimes it’s “a homemade spread” like blueberry pancakes with whipped cream.
During the drive to drop Julia off at school, Chabert’s daughter gets to choose the music. She loves variety, Chabert explained, choosing anything from ABBA to Whitney Houston. It seems the soundtrack from “Sing 2” gets a lot of play, as well.
As Chabert drops off her daughter, “I give her a million kisses on her little cheeks and give her a big squeeze before drop-off.”
Along with the kisses and hug, Chabert explained, “I tell her how proud I am of her and how much I love her.” Chabert noted that in addition, “I say, ‘The most important thing is not grades — obviously do your best — but it’s being kind to people.”
The Hallmark Star Makes Sure to Make Time for Herself
After Chabert drops Julia off at school, she frequently takes time for herself and sets the tone for her day. Often, her next step involves taking a walk oudoors. She explained, “I love being outside. I find it so rejuvenating and refreshing.”
Chabert noted that her morning outside time is “kind of my me time. That’s kind of my solo thing and I really, really enjoy it.”
From there, Chabert added, “I prioritize what’s most important. It doesn’t set a good tone for my day when I wake up and immediately think about the hundred things on my to-do list…When I try to take it one by one and have some grace with myself, I have a much better day.”
