‘Mistletoe Murders’ Star Sarah Drew’s Heartfelt Message to Overwhelmed Moms

When it comes to managing holiday stress, Hallmark star Sarah Drew is in the thick of it with the rest of us. While the holidays can be magical, especially when looking at it through the eyes of children, they can also be a lot of extra work.

On December 8, the “Mistletoe Murders” star reminded us why we adore her so much, posting a heartwarming Instagram message telling everyone to take a “moment to exhale.”

Sarah Drew’s Holiday Reminder to Exhausted Parents: ‘You Are Enough’

“Any other moms out there completely over-elfing themselves into the ground????” Drew asked fans. “I hear you – I’m with you. So sit down, listen to this beautiful, sacred Christmas carol and just exhale.”

“Remember- Christmas is about love entering the world to heal the broken hearted,” she continued. “You don’t have to be the Christmas magic. You can’t be. It was already done for you on Christmas Day.”

She finished with an important message to moms everwhere: “You are beloved (even when your people forget to tell you ),” she wrote. “You belong (even when you feel alone) and you are enough! Take a breath.”

Sarah Drew Shares Her Chaotic But Joyful Holiday Traditions

In “Mistletoe Murders,” Drew’s character, Emily, is a single woman trying to solve crimes alongside Sam, played by Peter Mooney. While Emily may not know much about the extra work most moms perform during the holidays, Drew definitely does. She’s the mother of 13 year old Micah and 11 year old Hannah, and holidays are a big deal for her and her family.

“Traditions are so important,” she told “Hello! Magazine.” “We started a new tradition the year the movie “Spirited” came out in 2022. When we decorate the tree, my husband makes us Manhattan cocktails, and the kids get sparkling apple cider, and we put on the movie and decorate the tree and that’s become a very fun tradition.”

The “Grey’s Anatomy” star also revealed that music is an important part of her holidays. She leads a Christmas caroling party, and records a Christmas album each year with the music collective Reindeer Tribe. She also takes part in her church’s Christmas Eve service every year, and hosts a Christmas Eve party. This year, her son is taking part in “A Christmas Carol,” as well.

“I love the new beginning of it all,” she admitted. “Of love entering the world to heal the brokenhearted, and I try to infuse that into all the projects I participate in.”
