In case you missed it, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau paid a visit to former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko, on December 3. What made the get-together even more notable was the fact that singer and “American Idol” alum Katy Perry accompanied Trudeau. Beyond that, Trudeau seemingly hard launched their relationship by sharing a photo of the foursome on social media.
“Former Canadian Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau visited Japan with his partner and joined my wife and me for lunch,” Kishida wrote on X (according to platform’s translation) while adding the photo of himself, his wife, Trudeau and Perry all standing in front of a Christmas tree. Kishida also added, “I am delighted that we continue to maintain this friendship in this way.”
In return, Trudeau shared Kishida’s message and picture while writing, “Great to see you @kishida230. Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko.”
Although the visit didn’t exactly require formal attire, Trudeau looked dapper in a sleek gray suit along with a matching tie. His hair is also slightly longer than usual, but was still neat and tidy.
As for Perry, she opted to wear a brown jacket and skirt with a black shirt and tights underneath. It was quite a different look than what she tends to slay on stage.

Although fans were a little surprised to see the photo of Trudeau and Perry shared on social media by the former Canadian Prime Minister, they were also excited by the pic.

Justin & Katy’s ‘Relationship is Already Fairly Serious’
While Trudeau has been dating Perry for a few months and only hard launched the relationship now, that doesn’t mean that the pair are necessarily taking it slow.
In fact, a source told People in October, “This relationship is already fairly serious and definitely moving in that direction.”
Although Perry had been busy traveling and performing for her Lifetimes World Tour, the source added, “They are very much a couple and have been seeing each other as often as possible.”
