The impending divorce of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss from her husband of 11 years, Todd Tucker, has been in the headlines since Kandi announced the split on Friday, November 21. After the news broke, Kandi and Todd spent their daughter Blaze’s birthday together at a princess-themed party, and Kandi also revealed she and Todd were together for a family meal on Thanksgiving.
On Monday, December 2, Kandi filed papers requesting that all filings, testimony, and evidence in the divorce be sealed, in order to protect the confidentiality of the family’s financial information as well as information regarding the couple’s two school-aged kids, Ace and Blaze Tucker. That’s per US Weekly. The move came a few days after Todd requested primary custody of the children, calling himself their “primary caregiver.”
Now, Todd has announced he suffered a major tragedy in his personal life, before leaving town to regroup. Read on for details.
Todd Tucker Says a Painful Goodbye
Todd took to his Instagram around December 2 to remember his mother, Sharon, who died in 2014. He posted a photo of the two of them together with the caption, “Momma, I hope you are resting well,” before saying, “I need you more than ever right now.” Part of the reason Todd may be missing his mom is that he just lost a close friend. Todd wrote, “My boy @ramon_1k died yesterday,” before asking his mom to tell his friend “what’s up” in Heaven.
Todd also told his mom, “You’ve raised a good man that will continue to make you proud.” Farther down in the post, he continued, “I have a lot of unfinished business down here but I look forward to the day I’ll see you again. And if you see God, tell him I’m doing my best and I have faith in this journey he has me on, cause I know I’m destined for greatness!” Todd signed off the message with, “Love you!” before calling himself “the best son in the world.”
Fans Consoled Todd On the Loss of His Close Friend
Fans comforted Todd after he announced the death of his friend. One wrote, “Praying for your family and your strength. Learning to live with grief is hard.”
Another wrote, “Going through anything without your mom is just torture! So sorry, I know the feeling.”
Todd revealed he took a trip out of town to relax and recover. On December 5, he wrote, “My boy @sebastianbastian knew I was going through a tough moment and offered me a change of scenery. We’ve been friends for 11 years, and his support has always meant a lot.”
