Robert Irwin’s Salsa to “MILLION DOLLAR BABY” by Tommy Richman for TikTok night, in “Dancing with the Stars” Week 3, was a win! Irwin and his professional partner Witney Carson put on an incredible display of talent and charisma, winning over fans. But for many, his score from the judges was way off and should have been much higher!
Robert Irwin’s Performance Didn’t Win Over Judges
Irwin and Carson scored 22 out of 30 for their Salsa. They did a great job, but their result were in the middle of the pack on the night. Tied with Irwin and Carson with 22 out of 30 were Scott Hoying and pro Rylee Arnold, and Hilaria Baldwin and pro Gleb Savchenko.
The winner on the night was a tie between Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa, who scored 24 out of 30, and Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas, who also scored 24 out of 30. In third place were Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach, who scored 23 out of 30, as did Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
The feedback for Irwin on the night included professional dancer turned DWTS judge Derek Hough saying Irwin’s dancing was “rigid” and “stiff”, but that he was a “strong, assertive, [and] a great partner.” Bruno Tonioli said it was a “wonderful performance,” but he also agreed with Hough. Fans reacted in the comment section, flooding it with messages of love and support for Irwin and Carson. There were also many comments about the performance and how judges got it wrong.
“I’m sorry judges but that side by side was PHENOMENAL!!!! The slide! Did you saw the SLIDE!!! And they saw no salsa?” a fan questioned. “Disagree with the judges THAT WAS SPECTACULAR,” another person shared.
Other reactions include, “I thought this was the best Dance of the night,” “Best dance by far. Judging is obviously rigged,” and “No pun intended but he was ROBBED should have been 9s!!!!!”
