Jennifer Lopez hopped onto Instagram on September 14 to share a few new pictures of herself done up for her role in “Kiss of the Spider Woman.” Two pics show her looking into a mirror while another sees her in a bubble bath while on set for the upcoming movie. Although you might noticed Lopez’s platinum blonde hair and striking red lipstick in the photos, plenty of her followers noticed that she happened to strongly resemble another famous star: Gwen Stefani.
“I thought this was Gwen Stefani at first!” one person wrote in an IG comment that racked up 1,271 likes. Another person shared a similar sentiment, writing, “What in the Gwen Stefani is this?”
The comments kept coming. Someone else added, “She looks exactly like Gwen Stefani in these photos!!!”
“She looks like Gwen Stefani,” another person wrote.
“I thought this was @gwenstefani,” said another social media user who had confused the two stars.
Yet another person commented to say, “Omg you look like @gwenstefani Love you sis.”
Granted, one fan thought Lopez looked like another famous figure. They wrote, “You look absolutely beautiful. You look like a Marilyn Monroe. ❤️❤️🔥🔥”
Makeup Artist Says Lopez’s Look ‘Was No Ordinary Glam’
Not all the comments were from fans who were comparing Lopez and Stefani. Makeup artist Scott Barnes, who is responsible for the “Jenny from the Block” singer’s surprising look also left a comment on the September 14 Instagram post.
“This was no ordinary glam,” he wrote and anyone who sees the pics can surely agree that’s true. He continued, “I created a full transformation for JLo as Ingrid Luna in Kiss of the Spider Woman — and she looks breathtaking.”
Fans Are Excited to See Lopez in ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’
Although plenty of fans were shocked to see Lopez looking like Stefani, others are simply excited to see the star appear in “Kiss of the Spider Woman.”
“I can’t wait to meet Ingrid Luna!” one fan wrote in a comment on Lopez’s latest Instagram post. “I know you worked so hard and poured your whole heart into this project. I love you so much and I’m beyond proud of you. #GoJLo #KOTSW 🙌❤️💋🕷️”
Lopez stars in the film along with Diego Luna (“Andor” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”) who plays Valentin Arregui/Armando and Tonatiuh (“Vida” and “Promised Land”) who you’ll be able to see on screen as Luis Molina/Kendall Nesbitt. The trio is joined by Tony Dovolani as Johnny Desiderio, Josefina Scaglione as Marta and Bruno Bichir as The Warden.
“Kiss of the Spider Woman” is set to be released in the United States on October 10, 2025.
