Lacey Chabert Reveals 2026 Rom-Com With Hallmark Fan Favorite: ‘The Most Spectacular Experience’

Anyone worried about suffering Lacey Chabert withdrawal symptoms after the holidays can rest easy. The Hallmark queen just wrapped filming a new movie, set for an early 2026 release, to follow up her current series and two upcoming film premieres.

On September 24, 2025, Chabert revealed via social media that she just returned from Fiji, where she’s been filming a rom-com with fan favorite Ian Harding, who joked in his Instagram Stories, “I truly can’t believe @thereallacey put up with me for a month.”

Lacey Chabert Announces Movie While Ian Harding Snores Away

On September 24, Hallmark Channel’s social media accounts posted a funny video from inside a private plane of Chabert announcing the new movie.

“Hi, it’s Lacey Chabert,” she beamed. “I’m so excited to share with you that I just finished filming a movie with Ian Harding.”

The camera panned over to the left side of the plane, where Harding sat in a suit, pretending to be fast asleep. Chabert then whispered, “As I said, I just finished filming. He was supposed to be in this, but he’s a little tired. Let’s let him nap.”

Still whispering, she said, “We filmed in Fiji. This is such a fun and funny and romantic movie, and I cannot wait to share it with you. Early 2026 on Hallmark Channel.”

She then laughed, and Harding jolted awake, exclaiming, “Where am I!?” Chabert replied, “We’re ready, we’re ready!”

Lacey Chabert Says People of Fiji Welcomed Cast & Crew With ‘Open Arms’

Later in the day, Chabert posted a selfie video from her car, telling fans, “I can finally tell you about what I’ve been doing this past month!”

“Ian Harding and I filmed a movie in Fiji,” she said excitedly. “I just got back a couple days ago, and it was just the most spectacular experience. So many stories. The people there are the most incredibly loving, kind people, and welcomed us with, just, open arms. And it was just such a special one and I can’t wait to tell you more.”

In text over her video, Chabert wrote that she was “so thankful for the beautiful experience filming in Fiji” with Synthetic Cinema, which is the production company behind may of Hallmark’s destination movies including 2024’s “The Christmas Quest” filmed in Iceland with Chabert and Kristoffer Polaha.

Synthetic is also behind recent Hallmark hits like “A Biltmore Christmas,” “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” and Chabert’s “Haul Out the Holly” franchise.

Harding, meanwhile, is best known for starring in “Pretty Little Liars” from 2010 to 2017, but has become a favorite among Hallmark fans in recent years, starring in 2022’s “Ghosts of Christmas Always,” 2024’s “The Magic of Lemon Drops,” and opposite Erin Cahill in the 2024 limited series “Holidazed.”

Harding also filmed a new Hallmark series called “Ripple” in 2024 that was expected to debut on Hallmark+ in 2025, but a release date has not been announced.

Chabert’s fans were thrilled to hear about her Fiji-based film, but they have plenty to keep them occupied until then.

Right now, the “Mean Girls” alum is starring in the second season of her unscripted series, “Celebrations With Lacey Chabert.” In each episode, airing Monday nights on Hallmark Channel, she and her event team surprise unsuspecting good Samaritans who have created or assisted various charities to make the world a better place.

On October 11, the third movie in her “Haul Out the Holly” franchise premieres — “Haul Out the Halloween” — which will bring back many familiar faces from the cul-de-sac, including Wes Brown, Melissa Peterman, and Eliza Hayes Maher. Plus, Chabert’s bestie Kimberley Brown from “Halloweentown” is part of the cast.

And it wouldn’t be Christmas on Hallmark Channel without a new flick from the “Queen of Christmas Movies.” On December 6, Chabert and Hallmark’s Andrew Walker will reunite for “She’s Making a List.”

Fans flooded Hallmark Channel’s post about her latest movie with Harding, excited that the star will grace their screens in the New Year, including one who excitedly wrote, “YES A NEW LACEY CHABERT HALLMARK MOVIE!!!!! I AM SO THERE!!!!!!”
