Chris Briney of the hit teen drama “The Summer I Turned Pretty” thrilled fans on November 28 by making out with one of his costars for the Kiss Cam. Briney, 27, was seen sitting at the Knicks game beside Sean Kaufman, who plays the brother of his love interest, Belly Conklin, in the popular show.
GettyWhen the camera panned to the two friends, Kaufman affectionately grabbed Briney’s cheeks and went in for a kiss. Briney went along with the romantic move, wrapping his hands around Kaufman’s head and passionately smooching him before away and bursting into laughter.

In a YouTube interview with Nick Viall, Briney said he never set out to be a teen drama icon. “Everything is an accident. I wanted to be able to pay rent as an actor. That was always sort of my goal like in college I was like if I can just pay rent, I’d be happy.”
The breakout star, who is set to appear with his castmates in an upcoming movie based on the popular three season series joked, “I can pay rent these days. I’m stoked on that.”
Briney was then asked what it’s like facing the intense expectations of fans who have fallen in love with the character of Conrad. He replied, ” There’s for sure some level of an expectation. People see a part of your life. Obviously I’m playing a character but they do See a part of you and I think the goal in some ways is to make that seem like it is a part of your identity. There is a tendency that people can conflate you and your character.”
The Summer I Turned Pretty isn’t the only big thing Briney is doing with his career. In October, it was revealed he had joined the season five cast of the HBO comedy drama “Hacks.”

The development of a movie based on “The Summer I Turned Pretty” was announced during a red carpet celebration for the season three finale, per Elle. The outlet says a Prime Video press release revealed Han will direct and write the film. The beloved author hinted at another big milestone in Belly’s journey, but specific plot details have not been revealed.
The report quotes Han as saying, “I thought only a movie could give its proper due I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story.” She also expressed her excitement about being able to share a “final chapter” with the fans.
As of mid September, Han was still in the script-writing stages. A release date has not been set. Han said it may not be until at least 2027, as nothing has been filmed yet.
