When it comes to reality TV, former NFL star Colton Underwood has been on just about every series imaginable. After kickstarting his reality career as a contestant on “The Bachelorette” season 14 in 2018, Underwood later returned for an appearance on “Bachelor in Paradise” before becoming the lead of “The Bachelor” the following year.
Despite looking for love with women on the trifecta of dating shows, Underwood came out as gay in 2021, an event that the star celebrated with his very own “Kardashian”-style reality series “Coming Out Colton” on Netflix. He later joined the cast of “Beyond the Edge,” a “Survivor”-esque reality competition, which he won. Since then, Underwood has made appearances on unscripted series such as “Name That Tune” and “The Masked Singer” before returning to the world of reality dating on “Are You My First?” earlier this year.
Now, Underwood is preparing for yet another reality television appearance as he joins the cast of Peacock’s “The Traitors” season 4.
Underwood Admits He Was ‘Terrified’ to Play ‘The Traitors’
Set to premiere in early 2026, the latest iteration of the Emmy-winning murder-mystery reality competition series will welcome 24 celebrities to the “Traitors” castle where, under the watchful eye of host Alan Cumming, they will compete in hardcore challenges to add money to the prize pot, attempt to root out hidden Traitors at the Round Table, and try to avoid murder in the dead of night.
GettyAs the season’s premiere draws ever closer, Underwood revealed how he’s been feeling about his run of the series, telling Gayety, “I’m terrified. But I was terrified when I started and it’s going to be so much fun.”
“The entire thing was so fun,” he continued. “It was stressful. It was intense, but it was fun…It reminded me a lot of the locker rooms when I played football, like a melting pot of cultures. I would’ve never been in a situation where I had that type of people around me and I enjoyed it.”
Underwood Praises Season 4’s ‘Incredible’ & Diverse Cast
Underwood went on to praise the season’s cast as “incredible,” adding, “A lot of gays and a lot of queer representation on there. So you love to see [it].”
Indeed, Underwood will be joined on the cast by LGBTQ+ contestants like former Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir, “Top Chef” host Kristen Kish, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” champion Monet X Change and “Survivor 44” winner Yam Yam Arocho.
Also joining the cast are “Real Housewives” stars Dorinda Medley, Lisa Rinna, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Caroline Stanbury and Porscha Williams, “Survivor” alumni Rob Cesternino and Natalie Anderson, and “Big Brother” legends Ian Terry and Tiffany Mitchell.
They’ll be joined by “Love Island” stars Maura Higgins and Robert Rausch, as well as former Olympic athlete Tara Lapinski, singer-songwriter Eric Nam, comedian Ron Funches, and actor Michael Rapaport. “One Tree Hill” star Stephen Colletti will round out the cast alongside Taylor Swift’s future mother-in-law, Donna Kelce.
At present, it remains unclear when “The Traitors” season 4 will make its highly-anticipated return to streaming. However, given that the series’ three previous seasons have debuted in early January, fans should expect a similar premiere date for the upcoming installment.
