Celebrity Breaks Nose in ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Rehearsal

Dylan Efron shared a personal setback from “Dancing with the Stars” rehearsals, revealing that he broke his nose during practice. Still, the Traitors alum made it clear he has no plans to step back from the ballroom. In an Instagram post on October 25, the 33-year-old explained that his partner, Daniella Karagach, accidentally caught him with her elbow while they were working through a new lift.

“Broke my nose, but don’t need it to dance,” Dylan wrote with a hint of humor, as he shared photos of himself in the hospital holding an ice pack to his face.

He also filmed a short video from his ER chair, reflecting on the moment with calm and good spirit. “It’s midnight, and I’m in the hospital because Dani broke my nose. We were trying a new move, and I took an elbow right here. It made a really loud crack,” he said, pointing to the bridge of his nose. Then, with a small smile, he added, “Not how I wanted to end the rehearsal day, but we’ll be back dancing tomorrow.”

Despite the mishap, Dylan said he felt grateful for the kindness of everyone around him that night. He highlighted Karagach, fellow pro Pasha Pashkov, and contestant Danielle Fishel for staying by his side.

“I’m seriously all good — but I’ll never forget the way Dani, Pasha, and Danielle WOULDN’T leave my side when it happened. Warms my heart to have friends like them,” he wrote. The DWTS community quickly filled the comments with support. Val Chmerkovskiy wrote, “Oh em gee.” Mark Ballas added, “I hope you’re OK brother. Sending you love.” Contestant Robert Irwin also chimed in, “What!!!!! Feel better mate.”

A Meaningful Moment With His Sister

During week 5‘s Dedication Night episode, Dylan performed a contemporary routine with his younger sister, Olivia. The siblings danced to “Rewrite the Stars” from The Greatest Showman, performed initially by Zac Efron and Zendaya. Their performance earned a score of 36 out of 40.

In their Week 6, Dylan and Daniella danced to “I’m Not That Girl,” and the pair delivered a smooth, emotional routine. Jon praised the performance, saying he could see Dylan was “so connected in the story,” adding, “I can’t believe you’ve never done this before.”

Bruno pointed out that Dylan’s hips “have no problem at all,” though he teased that he “lost a little bit of control” at moments. He reminded the audience that the Rumba is one of the hardest ballroom dances for men, and said Dylan handled it well.

Carrie Ann highlighted the bond between the partners, calling their connection “magic,” and noting that while there were some minor foot slips, the dance remained “wonderful to watch.” Derek added that Dylan is continuing to “grow” each week.

Score: 32/40

Dylan is scheduled to return for Halloween Week, where he will perform the Viennese Waltz to “Can’t Help Falling in Love (DARK)” by Tommee Profitt and Brooke.

Dancing with the Stars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+.
