TLC Star Reveals Infant Son Suffered Terrifying Injury

Myrka Cantu, who starred in the TLC show ‘Unexpected,’ opened up about a recent injury her infant son sustained.

In a video posted on Instagram on November 15, Cantu revealed that her third child, Alejandro Uriel, who was born in January, fell off the bed in the middle of the night. He was rushed to the emergency room.

‘He’s the first one I have ever co slept with as a baby and I promise you he’s the last,” she captioned the video. “As safe as I was nothing could have prevented him falling off while we were asleep, other than him sleeping in his own crib ALONE. My baby is so strong I’m so inspired by him and I know we will look back at this teaching moment and be grateful for it ONE DAY.”

Cantu revealed that her son fell off the bed while they were bedsharing.

“I definitely should have taken the fact that (my son is) crawling into consideration when cosleeping,” the reality television star explained. “I woke up in the middle of the night. I don’t know if he started playing or if he was sleep-crawling, and he straight up fell off the bed.”

“He did fracture his skull, and he got a brain bleed,” she added. “I’m not gonna lie to y’all and tell y’all that I’m perfectly fine because I’ve been crying like there’s absolutely no tomorrow. I’m running on no sleep, literally been awake for a full 48 hours at this point.”

But with that, Cantu provided a promising update saying her son is doing “extremely well,” with doctors saying they were optimistic he could be released from the hospital soon. She also posted a follow-up video on Nov. 18, telling fans that her son is doing “absolutely amazing.”
