Taylor Swift Responds to Rumors She’ll Quit Music After Marrying Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift is shutting down the rumors and inspiring fans in the process. The 35-year-old global superstar made it clear she has no plans to quit music after marrying NFL star Travis Kelce, calling the speculation both “offensive” and “outdated.”

In an October 6 interview with BBC Radio 2’s Scott Mills, the “Life of a Showgirl” singer was asked whether her latest record might be her last. “Don’t tell me this is your last album?” Mills asked. Swift immediately dismissed the idea. “What? No,” she replied.

When the host mentioned that some fans believed she might retire after getting married and having children, Swift pushed back with conviction. “That’s a shockingly offensive thing to say,” she said. “It’s not why people get married so that they can quit their job.”

‘He Loves What I Do’: Taylor Praises Her Supportive Fiancé

Swift made it clear that her relationship with Kelce, 36, is built on shared ambition, not sacrifice. “I love the person that I am with because he loves what I do,” she said. “He loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music.”

She added, “That’s the coolest thing about Travis; he’s so passionate about what he does that me being passionate about what I do connects us.”

The “Fate of Ophelia” singer emphasized that Kelce fully supports her career and creativity. “There’s no point in time where he’s going to be like, ‘I’m really upset that you’re still making music.’ Imagine [him saying], ‘The music that I signed up for, that I knew you love, I thought you were going to stop doing that.’”

Swift’s Take on Love, Marriage & Career

Swift went on to address the larger issue behind the fan speculation, explaining that women shouldn’t be expected to give up their passions once they marry. “It’s not why people get married,” she said, reiterating her belief that love and ambition can coexist.

Acknowledging that the rumor came from a place of fan concern, she added playfully, “Oh, I know. They love to panic sometimes.”

Swift’s comments come as her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” continues to shatter records. Billboard reported that the album sold an estimated 2.7 million copies in its first 24 hours in the U.S.

She compared her career to Kelce’s, noting their similar dedication to performance. “We both as a job, as a passion, perform for three and a half hours in NFL stadiums,” she said. “For him, it’s a game; for me, it’s a show. We both have teams. It’s a very similar thing.”

With her engagement to Kelce and another hit album dominating the charts, Swift’s message couldn’t be clearer: she’s not slowing down for anyone.
