Taylor Swift Reveals Her Mom’s Sweet Reaction to THAT Song About Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift is sharing how her mom reacted to one of the cheekiest tracks on her new album — and it involves some serious double entendre.

Taylor Swift Talks Mom’s Reaction and Explicit Lyrics

Appearing on SiriusXM’s “The Morning Mash Up” on Monday morning, Swift opened up about her racy new album “The Life of a Showgirl,” which dropped last Friday. Naturally, the hosts had to ask what her mom, Andrea Swift, thought about the innuendo-filled track “Wood,” which fans believe is a nod to Travis Kelce’s manhood.

“I think that she thinks that that song is about superstitions, popular superstitions, which, which it absolutely is,” Swift said, referencing the track’s “knock on wood” lyrics. Host Nicole Ryan called Andrea’s interpretation “so sweet,” to which Swift replied, “That’s the joy of the double entendre.”

“ That song, you could read that song for people and it just goes right over their head. That song … you see in that song what you wanna see in that song,” she added.

The conversation turned to Swift’s choice to use more explicit language on this record — eight of the 12 songs carry an “explicit” label, including “CANCELLED!” and “Wood.” She explained, “If it, to me, improves the intensity of the moment or if, in terms of syllables or just consonants and vowels, if, if to me it pops off more, you know, there are certain lyrics that just bounce more. Or if it feels like it’s a part of the vernacular of how that character that I’m kind of cosplaying in that song would speak.”

She continued, “Like, there are a lot of different reasons you choose to throw in a swear word or like a certain phrase or a sort of alliteration or whatever. But that’s what I love so much about songwriting — those decisions are fun and oftentimes hilarious to make.”

The ‘Opalite’ Singer Gushes About Falling for Travis Kelce

Swift also reflected on when she fell in love with Kelce, her now-fiancé. Laughing shyly, she admitted it was hard to pinpoint the exact moment. “Oh my gosh, it’s so hard to just pinpoint that. Especially like, because we’re on the radio and I’m just like getting shy all of a sudden,” she said. Ultimately, she summed it up sweetly: “He’s one of those people where as soon as you meet him, you kind of know he’s the best. And you kind of know there’s no one else on the planet that’s ever been even remotely similar to him. He’s like one of one. So, I hope you get to hang with him sometime because you’ll absolutely love him.”

Later that evening, Swift appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” where the audience cheered like it was an Eras Tour stop. Fallon congratulated her on her engagement and teased, “This is the hottest ticket in town.”

Swift showed off the “old mine brilliant cut” diamond ring designed by Kindred Lubeck, confirming that Kelce had been holding onto it for a while. “He had it for a really long time before he gave it to me,” she revealed. “He’s just my favorite person I’ve ever met. No offense to everyone else, but the fact that this is the person that I get to hang out with every day.”

When Fallon asked about “Wood,” Swift explained that the song started out innocently. “ I brought this into the studio and I was like, ‘I wanna sort of do a throwback kind of timeless sounding song,’” she said. “It really started out in a very innocent place. I dunno what happened, man, once I got in there, we started vibing and I don’t know.”
