Ed Kelce Takes a Page Right Out of His Future In-Law’s Playbook With His Latest Move

Ed Kelce is officially earning his “father-in-law of the year” status among Taylor Swift fans. The proud dad of Travis Kelce brought some Swiftie-style sparkle to the Kansas City Chiefs game on Sunday by handing out custom friendship bracelets to fans before kickoff — a sweet nod to the pop star’s fan-favorite Eras Tour tradition.

Ed Kelce Shares Taylor Swift-Inspired Gesture at Chiefs Game

The bracelets featured white beads spelling out “Travis” and “Taylor,” separated by a red heart bead, with a lowercase “e” for Ed — marking his personal touch. According to People, Chiefs season ticket-holder December Brammer said she was surprised to see Kelce himself giving them out outside GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium before the Chiefs-Raiders game.

“I noticed he was handing something out, so we walked over and asked for one,” Brammer said. “He was so sweet and greeting everyone and was the cutest passing them out!”

Fans quickly took to social media to gush over the thoughtful move. “Great game for Chiefs and the Kelce and Swift family continue to merge together as one unit,” one fan posted on X. Another wrote, “Now proud future FIL. Handing out friendship bracelets. No one should EVER doubt the Kelce family.”

Swift, who reportedly watched the game from a private suite, kept a low profile during the matchup. Still, the family connection was impossible to miss.

Taylor Swift’s Future Father-in-Law Mirrors Her Own Family Traditions

Ed’s sweet gesture mirrors a longtime tradition in Swift’s family — specifically from her dad, Scott Swift, who has made a habit of handing out guitar picks to her fans at concerts for years. It’s a small but memorable way the Swifts connect personally with their daughter’s supporters, a move that Kelce’s bracelets seem to echo perfectly.

Taylor’s mom, Andrea Swift, and Scott have become beloved fixtures at her shows, often mingling with fans and adding personal touches to the concert experience. Swift even joked about her dad’s enthusiasm for guitar picks in a 2021 post on X, writing, “Happy Father’s Day to all the dads but mostly mine, who called me yesterday to remind me he still has guitar picks from the Red Tour, ‘if they’re needed.’”

In another post from 2012, via Captial FM, she teased, “My dad’s all, ‘can you try using these new guitar picks?’ And I’m all, ‘sure, I’m not picky.’ Then I’m all, ‘get it??? Hahahaha.’”

The Kelce family seems to be carrying that same spirit forward. Travis Kelce himself has been spotted handing out guitar picks at Swift’s Eras Tour, while his brother Jason Kelce has joined in too — prompting fans to joke that the Kelce brothers have been “officially recruited” by Papa Swift.

One fan summed it up perfectly on X: “The fact that giving out guitar picks is actually Papa Swift’s job… and now Travis and Ed are doing it too? The family crossover we didn’t know we needed.”
