“American Idol” alum Katharine McPhee may be known as a talented singer; however, it turns out that she has another impressive skill. Taking to Instagram, the star posted a video containing clips of her rehearsing for her holiday shows with her huband, music producer David Foster. While Foster plays the piano, McPhee dances around like a charmed ballerina. She even goes en pointe, putting her full body weight on her tippy toes.
In the caption, she wrote, “night 1 of our christmas tour ✅ black swan…but festive 🩰🎄”
When one person left a comment saying they weren’t aware of the fact that McPhee is a ballet dancer, the singer replied, “I’m not 😂😂 I just used to do it and fun to pretend during the holidays.”
‘Dancing with the Stars’ Pros Reacted to Katharine’s Moves
When McPhee posted the video of herself dancing on social media, it sparked plenty of reactions. That includes from the pros of “Dancing with the Stars.”
While Sasha Farber left clapping hands emojis, popular “DWTS” pro/judge/host Derrick Hough wrote, “Excuse me.”
On top of that, Season 30 contestant Amanda Kloots also left a comment, saying, “KATHARINE!!!!!! Hidden talents revealed!”
Others were just as impressed.
One fan wrote, “Wow wow wow!!!!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️❤️”
“And…you’re a ballerina ??🩰AMAZING ❤️👏👏,” another added.

Could Katharine Be a Future ‘DWTS’ Competitor?
GettyFrom the looks of McPhee’s recent Instagram post, she definitely has the physical skills to compete on “Dancing with the Stars.” However, she may not have the desire to sign on for on the popular — yet incredibly demanding and surely stressful — show.
How do we know that? Well, back in December 2021, the Blast reported that there had been a discussion about the possibility between the singer and Foster. When he brought up the idea of a “DWTS” appearance, she quickly replied, saying, “That will never happen.”
Perhaps McPhee has now changed her mind and maybe we’ll see her on a future season?
