According to ABC 7 News, Shatner’s agency, TalentWorks, said that the iconic actor is doing “fine” despite the previous reports. “Shatner’s agency said those reports are false,” the outlet reported.

The Initial Reports About Shatner’s Health

TMZ reported on September 24 that Shatner had suffered a medical emergency. According to the outlet, the actor had complications with his blood sugar. This was said to have happened while he was at his Los Angeles home.

The initial report states that Shatner called for medical attention as a precaution. As a result, the paramedics arrived in an LAFD ambulance. Sources then told the outlet that he was doing well and resting. It’s unclear whether Shatner’s agency sought to debunk the claim that he went to the hospital or if they meant his condition didn’t require him to remain there.

Fans took to social media upon hearing that Shatner may have suffered a medical emergency, showing their love and concern for the star. One person said on X, “My thoughts and prayers are with William Shatner, who has been rushed to the hospital today and remains under observation. Please pray for our Captain.”

Someone else said, “Prayers for William Shatner for a quick recovery.”

Shatner Remains Busy These Days

Shatner has a storied career and ranks among the most respected actors. This is thanks to him starring as Captain Kirk in “Star Trek” as well as his numerous other roles. Some of his other credits include “T.J. Hooker,” “Boston Legal,” and “Miss Congeniality.”

According to CBS News, Shatner went to space in 2021 at age 90, becoming the oldest person to do so. Shatner was part of the Blue Origin mission, dubbed NS-18.

Notably, he gave Gayle King advice in 2024 before her April space flight. He told the host, “You’re on an adventure. You’ve got to embrace it.”

He continued, “There are no words in the English language to explain what weightlessness is like. It is the strangest feeling. Nothing is like it, not swimming in a pool where they have the astronauts. Nothing is like it.”

Shatner added, “You’re going to see the world like nobody. Only 600 people have seen it before.”
