‘Star Trek’ Actor Anson Mount Shares a Message About His Wife as His Show Wraps Up

You may know Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike from “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.” However, he’s also a husband and father. Mount has been married to his wife, Darah Trang, for seven years. The couple shares two daughters, three-year-old Clover and three-month-old Violet. While Mount is currently filming the final season of his show, he took to social media to share a message about his wife.

“Just got to my hotel room. I’m commuting for the rest of the year to shoot Season 5 of @startrek #strangenewworlds,” the star wrote in the caption of an Instagram post that he shared on Tuesday, September 30.

“A bit tired but nothing compared to my amazing wife who’s managing both kids and settling a new house in my absence,” he continued.

“I’m still happy I chose to be an actor but there are realities that come with any career choice. And travel is definitely the big reality of this business,” he wrote. “I’m just lucky to have a family that supports me and bosses who try to help me make it all fit.”

Fans Sent Mount Their Support

Mount’s message about his wife prompted plenty of his followers to share their support and relate to his situation.

“I feel you! My husband is an Exec chef and we have had to move a lot for work,” one person wrote. “Moving now. Not all the bosses have been great, but lucky to have some that have been amazing. I understand your wife! And thank you — my hubby loves the series!”

“How glad I am that your wife supports you and helps you. [Y]ou deserve it,” another person left in a comment. “And we can continue enjoying a great actor. Thank you for your effort and thanks to your wife, who makes it possible by accompanying what you do, she is great 😘🫂”

Mount Has to Balance His Career & Family

Mount’s busy career means that he has to balance it with his homelife. As a result, he sometimes has to choose to be with his family instead of fulfilling certain work commitments.

For instance, in July, Mount hopped onto Instagram and shared a post to explain why he was missing San Diego Comic-Con 2025. In the caption, he wrote: “Sorry to be missing @sdcomic_con for the 2nd year in a row, but here’s my excuse. And it’s a GOOD ONE!”

In the accompanying video, Mount explained that he missed out on the event because he had gotten a call from his wife saying that their daughter, Violet, was about to be born. Along with the video, Mount shared a few photos of the newborn.

His caption continued, “I woke up to Darah and Clover making banana and chocolate pancakes while listening to yacht rock and realized I made the right decision to stay home. Enjoy [the] panel and I’ll hopefully see you all next year!”
