Before becoming a sci-fi legend as Mr. Spock on “Star Trek,” beloved late actor Leonard Nimoy put his acting skills to the test in an early role on “General Hospital.”

Nimoy, who passed away on February 27, 2015, played the character of drug dealer Bernie Smith. The actor appeared on the soap’s 17th episode. He was 32 at the time.

Leonard Nimoy’s ‘General Hospital’ Stint

Nimoy’s single-episode stint on “General Hospital” aired on April 23, 1963, over three years before he became famous as Spock.

In the episode, Nimoy played a “pill pusher” searching for Peggy Mercer’s (K.T. Stevens) boyfriend, Roy Lansing (Robert Clarke). His character, Bernie, showed up to deliver narcotics to Roy, a moment that exposed Roy’s addiction and shattered his rekindled romance with Peggy.

That episode marked Nimoy’s only appearance on the soap, and his character was never referenced again. Many fans simply assumed Bernie continued his shady dealings somewhere off-screen in Port Charles.

Nimoy Never Publicly Spoke About His Time on ‘General Hospital’

Although Nimoy never publicly discussed his “General Hospital” role, footage of his appearance has been preserved in the ABC archives.

In addition, soap opera historian Gary Warner uncovered Nimoy’s pay stub for the episode. Warner reportedly came across it while researching his 1995 coffee-table book, “General Hospital: The Complete Scrapbook.”

Speaking with the LA Times in December 1995, Warner revealed that he was looking through stacks of payroll stubs when he spotted Nimoy’s name. The actor was paid $45 for his one episode on “General Hospital.”

“Leonard Nimoy? Leonard Nimoy! This is like gold,” he said.

Warner added that he managed to get a copy of Nimoy’s episode, but it doesn’t have audio.

“So we ordered up the show and they couldn’t find the sound,” Warner revealed. “The sound was on a separate reel. I still don’t have the sound, but I’ve got Leonard Nimoy.”

Shortly after his “GH” gig, Nimoy landed the role as Mr. Spock in “Star Trek” that shot him to fame.

In February 2015, Nimoy’s wife, Susan Bay Nimoy, confirmed his passing, saying the cause was late-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, per The New York Times.

Nimoy announced in 2014 that he had been diagnosed with the disease, attributing it to years of smoking.

“Star Trek” premiered on NBC in September 1966. Gene Roddenberry, the creator of the franchise, described Nimoy as “the conscience of ‘Star Trek’.”

Shatner Gives Thanks and Reflects on His Health at 94

William Shatner is sharing a candid update about his life with his fans. The actor took to social media to share why he feels “especially thankful” this Thanksgiving. The Star Trek legend marked the holiday on Thursday, November 27, by posting a heartfelt photo of his festive dinner on Instagram.

Actor’s Cheerful Photo Delights Fans

The 94-year-old actor looked bright and cheerful as he held up a plate filled with turkey and mashed sweet potatoes.

“Happy Thanksgiving, everybody… we all talk about blessings at Thanksgiving… I am especially thankful this year as we are blessed beyond measure with [health], family, and a beautiful gathering,” Shatner wrote.

“I am wishing you all a blessed day and holiday season. Best, Bill.”

For Shatner, feeling healthy at 94 is a gift he says he never takes for granted. Fans reacted to the photograph with uplifting comments.

“WOW! Looking GREAT, Captain!!! 👏🙌🙌. Happy Thanksgiving!”— This fan comment summed up a sentiment from his fans.

One fan wrote: “My gos,h I hope I look as good as you at 94!” Another fan chimed in and wrote: “You always bring me happiness and positivity! Thanks, Captain, you’re the best! 💪🏻❤️👍🏻”

Shatner’s Thanksgiving Post Follows Reports of a Recent Medical Issue

Shatner’s Thanksgiving message comes two months after reports claimed he had suffered “a medical emergency” at his Los Angeles home on September 24.

TMZ reported that the actor was taken to a hospital after experiencing low blood sugar. His rep, Harry Gold, quickly dismissed the story, saying, “I spoke to Bill earlier this evening. He is fine. He is not in the hospital. He is at home. He is 100 percent healthy.”

Shatner addressed the rumors himself the next day with humor. He shared a meme that read, “Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!” and joked, “I over indulged. I thank you all for caring, but I’m perfectly fine. I keep telling you all: don’t trust tabloids or AI!”

Shatner Has Been Open About His Longstanding Health Challenges

Shatner has long been open about living with “permanent tinnitus,” a condition he developed while filming the Star Trek episode “Arena.”

“I was too close to the special effects explosion, and the result was that I was left with permanent tinnitus,” he said in a video for Tinnitus Quest.

“And over the years, I’ve had many ups and downs with my tinnitus, and I know from firsthand experience just how difficult it can get.”

In a 2023 interview with E! News, he admitted the ringing can still be overwhelming.

“Sometimes it’s really bad, but I know it’s not going to kill me,” he said.

Through health scares, rumors, and the daily challenges of tinnitus, Shatner remains upbeat and grounded. His Thanksgiving note carried the same resilience and humor fans have loved for decades.

At 94, he summed up his gratitude: he feels blessed to celebrate the holiday with family, good food, and good health.

The“Star Trek” legend sold his kidney stone years ago, but in a recent interview he explains why; and it might just surprise fans.

It seems like even when William Shatner does something weird, it still turns out kind of amazing. Back in September, the 94-year-old actor sat down with “On the Red Carpet” and dropped a story from 2006 that sounds straight out of a late-night comedy sketch; but it’s 100% real.

“I have a kidney stone. Two days later, I got a phone call from a gambling casino in Canada and they said, ‘We heard you had a kidney stone. We’d like to buy it.’”

Yep, you read that right. A casino wanted to buy his kidney stone. Of course, Shatner didn’t just hand it over. The man’s been negotiating with aliens and lawyers on TV for decades… he knows his worth.

“I said, ‘Great. I want $100,000 for my kidney stone.’ ‘No, no, no.’ I said, ‘$100,000.’ ‘All right, I’ll take 75.’”

Classic Shatner. He didn’t even blink. And honestly, who could blame him? If someone’s weird enough to want your kidney stone, you might as well make it worth your while. The buyer turned out to be GoldenPalace.com, the same online casino that made headlines in the 2000s for buying up wild pop culture memorabilia; like famous toast and random autographed oddities.

But here’s where it gets better: Shatner didn’t pocket the cash.

From Kidney Stone to a New Home

Rather than keeping the money, the “Star Trek” actor donated the proceeds to Habitat for Humanity; and he wasn’t alone. The cast of his then-hit show, “Boston Legal,” even joined in.

“The cast kicked in $25,000. We gave that to Habitat for Humanity and we built a house and right now there’s a lovely family of five I believe living in a house in Ormans.”

So, let’s recap: one painful kidney stone turned into a $75,000 deal, which turned into a donation, which turned into a house for a family in need. Only Shatner could turn a bizarre bodily event into a feel-good story.

That’s the thing about him… he’s never just about the punchline. There’s always heart hiding behind the humor. And in this case, that heart built a home.

William Shatner: Still Boldly Going Where No One Has Before

At 94, Shatner’s still proving he can surprise people. He’s been to space, he’s conquered TV and film, and apparently, he’s also the only person on Earth who can sell a kidney stone and call it philanthropy.

It seems like the guy’s secret superpower is turning chaos into something meaningful. And let’s be real; there’s something kind of poetic about it. A painful moment turned into a permanent difference for someone else.

Weird? Definitely. Wonderful? Absolutely. And in true William Shatner fashion, he made it unforgettable.

William Shatner Opens Up About His Daughter’s Cancer Battle

Actor William Shatner is reflecting on one of the most emotional chapters of his life — his daughter’s battle with Stage 4 breast cancer. In a candid September 2025 interview with On The Red Carpet, the 94-year-old “Star Trek” legend revealed that his daughter, Melanie Shatner Gretsch, is now cancer-free after a long and difficult fight against the disease.

A post shared by Scott Pooler (@scott.pooler.gasparillamedia)

“My daughter, who had breast cancer, Stage Four, is cured because of the luck of finding the doctor whose chemicals he invented 10 years ago were directly applied to this particular cancer. So she got through her cancer,” Shatner shared in the interview.

The actor, who shares Melanie with his first ex-wife Gloria Rand, also revealed that he and his daughter are considering launching a podcast focused on longevity, resilience, and the science of living a longer, healthier life.

Shatner Reflects on His Own Health Struggles

During the same interview, William Shatner opened up about his own health struggles, revealing that he has battled both Stage 4 melanoma and prostate cancer. While he didn’t go into detail, the actor reflected on how modern medicine played a life-changing role in his recovery and perspective on aging.

“I’ve had some illnesses. I don’t want to discuss it now, but I’m aware of what it’s like to have the magic of medicine dealing with cancer and age,” Shatner said. “There is this combination between my daughter and me that we can speak about ‘How are you going to live longer?’”

The legendary “Star Trek” star went on to share his heartfelt philosophy on longevity, explaining that the secret to youth lies in curiosity and connection. “You have to mix it up, to do something unusual, to do something different. That energy energizes your cells and keeps you young. That’s the key to youth,” he said, reflecting the optimism and wisdom that have defined his long, extraordinary life.

Melanie Shatner Gretsch Shares Her Side of the Story

Gretsch opened up about her breast cancer journey in an October 2024 interview with UCLA Health, where she appeared alongside her medical team, including breast surgical oncologist Dr. Carlie Thompson.

While she was diagnosed as Stage 4, Thompson explained that Melanie’s cancer was considered one of the rare curable cases because it had only spread to her chest lymph nodes and not to vital organs.

“Melanie was Stage 4,” Thompson said. “She was one of those rare cases of stage 4 breast cancer that was curable.”

Gretsch began an 18-month treatment plan in 2022 that included chemotherapy, targeted therapy, surgery, and radiation. “Dr. Thompson says I did the maximum. There is no more they could have thrown at me,” Gretsch said.

Thompson confirmed that the actress underwent one of the lengthiest and most aggressive treatments possible. “We had to be particularly aggressive about her treatment,” she said. “For now, we can say that she is cured.”

Today, Melanie Shatner Gretsch, 61, is focusing on healing and helping others through her story. She shared that she is working on a memoir about her cancer experience and emotional journey.

Ethan Peck didn't realize until deep in the audition process that he was auditioning for the role of Spock.

Ethan Peck, Leonard Nimoy

For most “Star Trek” fans, there is only one Spock: Leonard Nimoy. He originated the character when the TV series “Star Trek” began airing in 1966. He has also reprised the role many times. Even 2013’s “Star Trek Into Darkness,” which featured Zachary Quinto as Spock, still included him as ‘Spock Prime.’

So, when Ethan Peck discovered that he was auditioning for the role of Spock in the new series, “Star Trek: Discovery,” it wasn’t without trepidation. “I didn’t know what I was auditioning for at the very beginning of the process,” Peck told his “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” co-star, Paul Wesley, for “Entertainment Tonight.”

Why Ethan Peck Was ‘Frightened’ to Take on Spock

“By the time I was in the second or third callback, I got sides, which are scenes they give us to audition with, that are often taken from the script,” Peck explained. “And I could discern from those sides that it was for the character of Spock. And I was in disbelief. It was a character I never expected to be up for.”

Peck revealed to the “Vampire Diaries” star that he was deep in the audition process when he discovered that he was auditioning for the role of Spock.

“It was confirmed for me in the final audition,” he continued. “I was really frightened. I was just really afraid that I wouldn’t be able to be consistent and sort of tackle the legacy of the character. Because it’s really heavy.”

Peck Says His Spock is ‘Very Easy to Have Fun With’

Peck first appeared as Spock in “Star Trek: Discovery” in 2019. Since then, he has reprised the role in “Star Trek: Short Treks” and “Star Trek: Very Short Treks.” He is currently in “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.” Despite his fear about taking on a character with such a heavy legacy, he’s succeeded in infusing his own touches.

“My version is more Funny Spock,” he told Men’s Journal. “I think there’s always an opportunity for comedy with the character because he’s so peculiar and idiosyncratic. You put him in any situation, it’s very easy to have fun with him, as a writer or as a performer.”

Also called ‘Hot Spock’ by “Star Trek: Next Generation” alum Jonathan Frakes, Peck’s version has had more romance than before. “We did see Spock grow a lot with these romantic relationships,” Peck admitted. “And I think it’s a major mistake not to develop your emotions and live in your feelings.”

“Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” is an upcoming Paramount+ TV show produced by CBS Studios. According to Deadline, “the series will follow the adventures of a new class of Starfleet cadets as they come of age in one of the most legendary places in the galaxy.”

The show will introduce a new group of cadets who discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers with the help of their instructors. These characters will also navigate friendships and rivalries, as well as love and a new enemy.

Stephen Colbert’s Role in ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’

On the set of his late-night show, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Colbert made a video apologizing for not being at Comic Con in person. He then announced his role in the new “Star Trek” project; Colbert will be playing the Digital Dean of Students.

Colbert will only be a voice on the show; his face will not be on camera. Per the video, Colbert said he was excited about this, as he doesn’t want to “spend four hours in hair and makeup every day.” He also said he’s “thrilled to join this universe,” as he’s a big fan of the franchise.

Colbert’s iconic CBS late-night show was recently canceled, ending a juggernaut of the genre after 33 years. Luckily for the host, he’s found multiple gigs close to home. In addition to “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” on CBS’s streaming service Paramount+, Colbert will be on the “Elsbeth” season three premiere on CBS, playing a fictional late-night host.

When Does ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ Premiere?

Fans will have to wait until January 15, 2026 to watch the first two episodes of “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.” From there, episodes will launch weekly on Thursdays.

“Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” has already been renewed for season two, even though season one has yet to air, according to Deadline. Along with Colbert, stars like Holly Hunter, Tatiana Maslany, Paul Giamatti, and more will make appearances on the new show.

The reason is surprising.

Why did Beverly Crusher leave Star Trek in Season 2?

SPOILER WARNING: This article contains mild spoilers for seasons 2 and 3 of “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”

As fans know, two original main characters from “Star Trek: The Next Generation” were no longer a part of the cast for season 2. One of those was Natasha Yar, who asked to be released from her six-year contract to pursue other opportunities after feeling unsatisfied in her role, per IGN.

The other star missing from season 2 was Gates McFadden, who portrayed the wise and compassionate Dr. Beverly Crusher. Unlike Yar, who was killed by the infamous alien life form Armus, also known as the “oil slick monster,” in episode 23, Crusher returned for the show’s third season after being absent for all of season 2.

Rumors surrounding the reason for Crusher’s exit from the show have persisted for years, but in a 2023 podcast appearance which has surpassed a million views, McFadden revealed that she was actually fired from the show by a producer who took offense to her behind-the-scenes behavior. So, why was Gates McFadden fired from “Star Trek”? Read on to find out what happened.

Gates McFadden Reveals Who Fired Her From ‘Star Trek’ Before Her Triumphant Season 3 Return

During a 2023 appearance on the podcast “Inside of You,” Gates McFadden finally revealed the truth about her abrupt and unexplained departure from “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” As the mother of Wesley, a heavily featured child prodigy, and the ship’s Chief Medical Officer, Beverly Crusher was an integral part of the show, so her sudden disappearance stunned and dismayed fans.

McFadden said in the interview, where she confirmed she was given the boot, “They don’t call it firing. They say you’re not asked back.” The interviewer then asked, “Maurice Hurley, showrunner and head writer did not like working with you, and under her demand, you were let go.”

“It was a he,” McFadden clarified, before going on, “I think it is true. But see, I don’t know that for sure. Here’s the thing. I had said ‘no’ to ‘Star Trek’ twice before, and went to do a play for $400 a week. I wasn’t at all into the business aspect of theater or cinema.”

McFadden, who IMDbPro says graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in Theatre Arts, said started acting for creativity’s sake, and “didn’t get this whole Hollywood thing.” She continued, “There are really politics, and I didn’t know that. And also, it was a different time. They wanted women to look pretty and be a certain way, but they really didn’t want you to speak up as if you were their equal, I think.”

The 76-year-old acknowledged that she’d upset Hurley, one of the head writers for “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” after going to him with unwelcome feedback about her character’s storyline. She explained, “I kept saying, ‘I’ve raised this genius kid, Wil Wheaton’s character, Wesley Crusher. I mean the guy saved the ship so many times, right? Clearly, I had something to do with it. It wasn’t just this dead husband.’ And yet every time it’s something even possibly serious, only the male characters talk to him.”

The actress admitted she got frustrated with her repetitive “Oh, Wesley!” line, saying, “I’m not buying this. This is like a ‘Leave It to Beaver’ kind of mother thing. And so I had a problem with it.” She also called out the episode “Angel One,” in which the female characters are sidelined while Riker is framed as a hero,” for having a “sexist, silly script.”

She pointed out, “There’s this planet of women, and they’re doing really well. And then all of a sudden, Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes) goes down, and they lose their minds because it’s a man.”

McFadden said despite the behind-the-scenes headbutting with production, she was informed by her agent that her character was the third most popular on the show. She made a triumphant return in season 3, and it turned out that was the perfect time to return. The third season of “TNG” was when the show found its footing and became an unmissable television staple.

Who is going on the Star Trek cruise 2026?

An iconic “Star Trek: The Next Generation” couple is coming back together for Star Trek: The Cruise 2026. Fans of the sizzling chemistry between First Officer Will Riker and Counselor Deanna Troi will be thrilled to know the official website for the cruise lists Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis, the actors who portrayed the pair, as members of the crew who will be on board for the ship’s journey!

As fans know, Troi and Riker first met years before their fateful assignments to the U.S.S. Enterprise-D in the first season of “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” The two had previously been engaged, with Troi still referring to Riker by the intimately affectionate Betazoid term “Imzadi.” During most of their seven-year tenure serving on the Enterprise, Riker and Troi remained on friendly terms, but passions flared occasionally.

The couple finally tied the knot to the delight of “Star Trek” fans everywhere in the film “Star Trek: Nemesis,” the fourth and final “TNG” feature film. Read on to find out who else be on board the cruise.

Watch Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis Share Cuddly Chemistry in Comic Con Interview

The undeniable chemistry between the actors who brought Will Riker and Deanna Troi to life beginning in 1987 with the premiere of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” has never faded over the years. In 2014, the pair cutely sat side-by-side to answer questions at Comic Con, with Sirtis familiarly resting her head on Frakes’ shoulder several times.

They talked about what they think of Comic Con, saying attending is like “walking into a room of your adoring fans.” Sirtis also shared a trivia fact with Frakes, letting him know their beloved show was the number one television program in Canada during its run.

The two stars also discussed their former “Star Trek: The Next Generation” castmates, saying, “We’re all still best friends.” Sirtis added, “I think we’re the only “Star Trek” cast where all seven of us get along famously.” The actress then joked, “That’s why there’s never gonna be a book. No publisher wants to hear how much fun it was and how much we love each other,” as she reminisced on the cast’s drama-free times together.

Star Trek: The Cruise 2026 Full Crew List

Along with Frakes and Sirtis, many more famous faces and fan-favorites are set to board the cruise, which sets sail February 20. USA Today says organizers have planned special events to celebrate the beloved sci-fi franchise’s 60th anniversary during the trip.

Frakes and Sirtis will also be reunited with their “TNG” castmate Denise Crosby, who played Tasha Yar. Despite only appearing in 27 episodes of the show, Crosby has remained firmly planted in fans’ hearts as an enduring favorite.

Chris Pine and Jenny Slate are joining forces in the upcoming indie romance “Carousel”, written and directed by Rachel Lambert, per Deadline. Details about the film’s plot remain under wraps, but it’s described as a love story featuring an ensemble cast that includes Abby Ryder Fortson, Sam Waterston, Katey Sagal, Heléne Yorke, Jessica Harper, and Jeffrey DeMunn. Filming wrapped in Cleveland, Ohio, where the production took over several local landmarks this summer.

According to reports, “Carousel” was filmed entirely in the state, using locations such as Medina’s Uptown Park, Jane’s Diner at Medina Square, and the Akron-Canton Airport. Residents even spotted Pine around town, with photos circulating of him visiting shops in Medina’s Public Square.

Bill Garvey, president of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission, called the film a win for the region’s growing film industry. “The production of the feature film ‘Carousel’ continues the pipeline of production investment and jobs to Northeast Ohio, spotlighting our region to an international audience,” he said.

Beyond “Carousel”, Pine has a full plate of upcoming projects. He’s set to star in and produce the Lionsgate action thriller “Run the Night”, directed by Robert Alonzo, marking the filmmaker’s feature debut, according to Variety.

Set in Amsterdam, the movie follows a banker accused of betraying the Dutch mob who wakes up with a $10 million bounty on his head and must fight across the city to save his family. Pine described the project as “full of possibilities” and praised his reunion with Alonzo, whom he worked with on “Star Trek” (2009).

The film is produced by Todd Lieberman and Alex Young for Hidden Pictures, with Pine producing alongside Ian Gotler under his Barry Linen Motion Pictures banner. Run the Night continues Pine’s streak of high-profile work, following his directorial debut Poolman and recent roles in “Don’t Worry Darling”, “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves”, and “Wish.”

Jenny Slate Expands Her Creative Reach with New Comedy Podcast

While “Carousel” adds another feature to Jenny Slate’s growing filmography, she’s also stepping into the podcasting world. Slate recently announced “I Need You Guys”, a new show co-hosted with comedians Max Silvestri and Gabe Liedman through SiriusXM and SmartLess Media.

Premiering Oct. 21, the podcast will feature the longtime friends catching up and chatting with guests including John Mulaney, Nick Kroll, Michelle Buteau, and Kumail Nanjiani. New episodes will drop every Tuesday across major platforms and the SiriusXM app.

Slate — who earned her first Emmy nomination for FX’s “Dying for Sex” — also has several upcoming projects, including “At the Sea” alongside Amy Adams and “Zootopia 2.”

With “Carousel”, both Pine and Slate are returning to their indie roots while balancing bigger ventures, marking a busy and creatively diverse year for both stars.

Hallmark’s relationship with “Star Trek” is legendary. It all began in 1991 with the release of the U.S.S. Enterprise ornament, and the annual series has become one of the most popular in Hallmark’s entire holiday lineup. Over the decades, the company has expanded beyond ships to include beloved characters and even exclusive Comic-Con collectibles — some of which are now worth serious money to collectors.

Now, Hallmark is gearing up for another big Trekmas. The 2025 “Star Trek” ornament collection brings together fan-favorite characters, iconic ships, and even a touch of arcade nostalgia.

Hallmark’s 2025 ‘Star Trek’ Character Ornaments

Star Trek™: The Next Generation Guinan Ornament Hallmark

The first release celebrates the adult animated sitcom “Star Trek: Lower Decks” with a set of two ornaments featuring Ensigns Beckett Mariner and Bradward Boimler. Both characters wear their red California-class command uniforms, with Mariner holding a phaser and Boimler carrying a T-88 tricorder — the one with the signature purple stripe. These figures represent the characters as they appeared in seasons 1 through 3 and the beginning of season 4.

This set marks the second wave of “Lower Decks” ornaments. In 2024, Hallmark released a Badgey two-pack that included “friendly Badgey” and “always monitoring comms Badgey.”

Two additional full-size character ornaments are joining the 2025 lineup. First up is Guinan from “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” Played by Whoopi Goldberg, Guinan is depicted in her famous defensive pose from the season 2 episode “Q Who?” when she comes face-to-face with Q (John de Lancie). The other is Hologram Janeway from “Star Trek: Prodigy,” with Kate Mulgrew’s younger Janeway holding her signature coffee mug and wearing a red Voyager-era command uniform.

All four character ornaments will be available beginning October 11, 2025.

Ships, Arcade Nostalgia, and Mini Ornaments

Star Trek™: Strategic Operations Simulator Arcade Game Ornament With Light and SoundHallmark

No “Star Trek” Hallmark lineup would be complete without ships. For 2025, the featured ship is the U.S.S. Titan-A from “Star Trek: Picard” season 3. In the series finale, the Titan-A is rechristened as the Enterprise-G. A special Comic-Con exclusive ornament reflecting that name was produced in limited numbers for collectors.

Perhaps the most unexpected piece of the collection is a full-size ornament modeled after the Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator Arcade Game, released by Sega in 1982. The ornament depicts the “captain’s chair” version of the arcade cabinet and features lights and sounds from the original game when activated.

Finally, two mini ornaments are set to round out the collection: a miniature version of the Voyager and a mini character ornament of Seven of Nine, played by Jeri Ryan. A full-size Seven ornament was released back in 2000 and is now hard to find, making this smaller version a welcome addition for newer collectors.
