In a letter released by the Maternal Mental Health Alliance (MMHA) on Friday, November 14, the Princess of Wales reflected on the “unseen realities of mental health throughout pregnancy and beyond,” urging greater understanding for parents navigating those hidden battles.

Her message, shared on the charity’s Instagram page, accompanied the launch of a new exhibition dedicated to the complex, sometimes painful truths of early motherhood.
“The MMHA continues to champion the voices of those navigating perinatal mental illness,” Kate wrote. “Their new photographic exhibition, ‘This is Also Motherhood’, explores the often unseen realities of mental health throughout pregnancy and beyond.”

The Princess said the exhibition reflects the charity’s core mission: ensuring that every family receives mental health support before, during and after pregnancy.
