Kate Middleton — or rather, Catherine, Princess of Wales — will always create a buzz when she changes her hair. Whether it’s a new ‘do or a new color, people are interested to see what the royal is doing with her stunning locks. That’s why she caused such a stir when she turned up with blonde hair.
“It was Princess Kate’s most shocking hair transformation to date, as she had not deviated much from the glossy brunette shade that has been her signature since marrying William in 2011,” according to People.
GettyAppearing at the Natural History Museum’s renovated gardens in London on September 4, the princess wore her hair down and pulled forward over her shoulders. While the top was somewhat straight, the bottom half of her strands boasted gorgeous waves. That’s not to mention the fact that her marvellous mane it was quite a bit lighter than her normal brown hair.
Royal hairstylist Neville Tucker told Vanity Fair (via Page Six), “It makes the change quite dramatic, I would say this is the blondest we have seen her.”
Now, actress Su Pollard told the Daily Mail that she spoke with Kate backstage at the Royal Variety Performance on Wednesday, November 19, and told her that she liked the lighter hair.
The royal explained, “It used to be brown, but it’s gone light in the sunshine.”
Princess Kate Returned to Brown Hair Days Later
GettyIt didn’t take long for the princess to return to her signature brown hair, although blonde highlights seemed to remain. “Though the lighter hair sparked immediate admiration,” according to Page Six, she “appeared to revert to her darker chestnut tones just days later.”
On Monday, September 8, Kate and Prince William “took a trip to Sunningdale on Monday to celebrate the memory of Queen Elizabeth II on the third anniversary of her death,” Us Weekly noted. “For the outing, Kate, 43, stunned in a plaid outfit with her long brown hair curled…”
Indeed, Us explained that “[w]hile Kate and William were honoring the queen’s memory, her hair was still the topic of conversation for most royal watchers. Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that Kate returned to her normal hair color after briefly going blonde earlier this month.”
The Royal’s Hair ‘Always Looks Flawless’
GettyWhether Kate’s hair is blonde or brown, it looks amazing. Indeed, the “royal always looks flawless no matter the occasion, and her flowing tresses are consistently immaculate,” according to Hello!
They went on to note, “From voluminous blowouts to retro bangs and honeyed highlights, Princess Kate has been known to subtly switch up her mane as per the everchanging roster of hair trends.”
