‘Sister Wives’ Star Robyn Brown Weighs in on Ex-Wives Returning to the Family

TLC’s “Sister Wives” season 20 focuses on the Brown family as they seek healing following Kody Brown’s separation from three of his four wives. In the coming episodes, it’s Kody who puts healing first as he embarks on an apology tour, meeting with Meri, Janelle, and Christine.

As Kody discusses his “tour” with his wife, Robyn, she’s caught off guard in a confessional when asked about the possibility of a former wife returning to the family. The question leaves her completely speechless.

Robyn Brown Is Left Speechless Over Ex-Wives Reunion Question

In the upcoming episodes of “Sister Wives,” Kody Brown embarks on his apology tour, traveling to North Carolina, Nevada, and Utah to make amends and hopefully find some peace with his former wives. But could an apology ever lead to a former wife returning to the family?

As he discusses his apology tour with his wife, Robyn Brown, she’s caught off guard in a confessional when asked, “How would you react if one of the ex-wives wanted to return?”

Robyn appears shocked by the unexpected question thrown her way. “Return to the family? Like, what? Really?” A confused Robyn shares. “I would be very surprised.”

“I don’t even want to answer this … It’s so making me sad right now,” she adds. When the director apologizes for asking the question, Robyn shares, “Because you just opened this little portal of hope, and I’m just like, I didn’t even think of that, and now I’m just like, what if?”

She continues, “I gotta move away from that. I’ll fall apart. Hope is dangerous sometimes.”

Naturally, such a question would stun Robyn, as she’s constantly expressed her desire to maintain a polygamous lifestyle. In an earlier episode, Robyn shared in a confessional, “Kody and I never chose to live monogamy. It’s definitely not something I would ever have chosen for myself.”

In the Nov. 30 episode, Kody opens up to Robyn about his desire to apologize to each of his former wives. “I started getting to his sort of vibe that I need to go apologize, just with what I need to own about the breakups, about how things happened with the family … I want them to set them free,” he tells her.

Speaking to the cameras, Robyn shared that she was “shocked” at Kody’s confession and skeptical that he would actually move forward with apologies. “He says a lot of things that may not even happen,” she added.

Robyn found herself particularly moved by Kody’s efforts to apologize to Meri, Janelle, and Christine, knowing that he planned to express regret for telling them he “never loved them.” For her, it was a relief because when he had spoken those words, it felt like they came from a man she didn’t recognize.

Of course, Kody kept to his word and began his apology tour by traveling to North Carolina, where he met with Janelle Brown.

Kody Kicked off His Apology Tour With Janelle Brown

In the Dec. 7 episode, Kody sits down with Janelle, where he expresses regret for telling her and his other former wives that he didn’t truly love them, sharing that it was “the meanest thing I did.”

Janelle realized that his words came from a place of hurt as the family went through such a difficult time.

“I knew that you loved me. Like, we had a great relationship,” Janelle tells him, as they both manage to laugh at the hard words. “Thanks for making that easy,” he replies. Still, in a confessional, Janelle couldn’t help but question why Kody was trying to reconnect with her on an emotional level.

During their one-on-one, Kody also took accountability for “being so angry and so bitter over the family breakup, and just nobody deserved to have me be that angry.” Those were words Janelle appreciated, telling her former husband, “I kept thinking I don’t know who this guy is. I used to always tell everybody, I’m like, ‘This is not the guy that I was married to forever.’ You know what I mean.”

After Kody hopes to find healing with Janelle, he’ll travel to Nevada to meet with Christine Brown Woolley and her husband, David Woolley. His final stop will be in Utah, where he’ll come face-to-face with his first wife, Meri Brown.
