Last week, MTV “Challenge” champion Ashley Mitchell and her partner, Leo Dionicio, lost both the daily challenge and the elimination, ultimately getting sent home from “The Challenge: Vets & New Threats.” As we inch closer to the all-important final, there are still quite a lot of duos left in the game. Here’s everything that happened on tonight’s episode of “The Challenge.”
Today’s Daily Challenge
Today’s daily was called “dirty drifter” and required players to remove chains from a car as quickly as they could. From there, their partner drove the car (attached to a tow truck) while trying to avoid knocking down boxes in exchange for 30 seconds off their time. The team to finish the challenge in the least amount of time wins.
During her turn to drive the car, Olivia Kaiser accidentally caused the car to flip. Unbeknownst to anyone, including herself, Olivia was pregnant while filming “The Challenge,” according to a tweet from Theo Campbell.
Theo, unfortunately, could not stop himself from helping his partner, Adrienne Naylor, undo the chains. He was given many warnings, but Theo didn’t listen, ultimately getting himself and Adrienne disqualified from the challenge.
Despite her crash, Olivia and her partner, Will Gagnon, won the challenge. Theo and Adrienne, having been disqualified, were sent straight into the elimination.
Given their alliance with Theo and Adrienne, Aneesa Ferreira and Jake Cornish worried they would be sent into elimination as well. This fear was justified to the audience when Sydney Segal and Justin Hinsley joked about sending Jake in.
The Elimination Vote
No one opted to stake a claim on anyone else’s partner, so the cast went straight to the vote. Aneesa and Jake were voted in almost unanimously, with their vote for Turbo Çamkıran and Sydney being the only other vote cast.
The Elimination
GettyTonight’s elimination required players to unravel various cables from a giant spool and plug them into the right sockets.
Theo and Adrienne, once again this episode, struggled to communicate. At one point, Adrienne got so frustrated that Theo wouldn’t listen to her that she threatened to quit participating in the elimination. Luckily, she changed her mind immediately and continued to fight for her spot in the “Challenge” house.
Ultimately, Theo and Adrienne finished significantly faster than Aneesa and Jake, sending their opponents home. Unfortunately, this means Aneesa will not win “The Challenge: Vets & New Threats,” just as she has failed to win every season she’s competed on thus far.
