Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio is basically MTV royalty at this point. From starting on “The Real World” to dominating “The Challenge” with seven wins under his belt (yep, you read that right seven), he’s been doing this thing for years. But this past weekend (November 22, 2025), he gave fans a whole new side of him: the musical Bananas.
At City Winery in Nashville, he hit the stage during a “Challenge Mania” live event and performed The Killers’ iconic hit “Mr. Brightside.” Honestly, seeing him in a totally different spotlight is wild; in the best way possible. And as usual, he brought the energy, chaos, and humor that only Johnny Bananas can deliver.
Bananas + Nashville = A Whole Vibe
If the Instagram post (seen above) is any indication, Johnny’s stage moment was pure peak Bananas energy. In slide four of his post, he’s singing with full-on rockstar vibes, and the crowd is eating it up.
The caption pretty much sums it up: “Hit the Nashville stage with the most dysfunctional family on TV… and I wouldn’t trade a single maniac🤘🍌🎸❤️”.
Watching him fully lean into the performance, connecting with the crowd, and just having fun is kind of the perfect reminder that this guy isn’t just a reality TV competitor; he’s an entertainer through and through. Fans were clearly loving every second, and honestly, we’re here for it too.
A Stage Full of Reality TV Favorites
Bananas wasn’t performing alone. The night was basically a reality TV reunion nobody knew they needed. Peter Weber from “The Bachelor” and “The Traitors” showed up, Derrick Kosinski, one of Bananas’ longtime “Challenge” partners-in-chaos, was there, and Mark Long, the man who’s everywhere from “Worst Cooks in America” to “The Challenge,” made an appearance too.
Between the music, the laughs, and this lineup of familiar faces, the whole event was basically one giant fan-service moment. You can feel the energy just watching the video; it’s messy, fun, and chaotic, and yes, exactly the kind of thing you want from Johnny Bananas.
Still a Challenger at Heart
Even with a guitar in hand, Bananas hasn’t stepped away from the game. He’s most recently appeared on Season 41 of “The Challenge: Vets & New Threats,” which is heading into its two-part finale on November 26 and December 3 on MTV. And don’t worry; no spoilers here.
But seeing him do something totally different while still keeping that “Bananas” energy shows why fans can’t get enough. He’s competitive, unpredictable, and somehow manages to be entertaining whether he’s in a challenge or on stage singing one of the biggest hits of the 2000s.
At the end of the day, this Nashville moment was classic Johnny: chaotic, fun, unapologetically himself, and completely unforgettable. From reality TV competitions to live performances, he keeps fans coming back for more.
