Hugh Jackman, A.K.A. Marvel‘s Wolverine, tends to keep busy, whether he’s working on a new movie or spending time performing on Broadway. Fortunately for the in-demand star, he has an occasional opportunity to stop by the beach. That’s just what he did recently, and to the delight of his fans, he also took a moment to snap a shirtless selfie which he shared on social media.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, December 6, Jackman posted a pic of himself on a stunning stretch of sand with the blue water sparkling behind him. From the smile on his face, it looks like he had a wonderful time.

In the caption, he wrote, “If only for a few minutes, I can’t resist.”

While Jackman looked like he was enjoying himself on the beach, his fans were just as thrilled to see his selfie.

Hugh Puts in the Work to Get into Shape

This isn’t the first time Jackman has shared a shirtless selfie. In September 2024, he took to Instagram to post a pic of himself looking absolutely ripped.

“I am grateful,” Jackman captioned the post.

He also included audio of himself speaking, saying, “I’ve had a lot of people talk to me or ask me questions about how I got into shape and what I did, what I ate, how I trained, … how hard is it at your age and all of these things and honestly, I just wanted to take a second to say, ‘Yeah, I had to turn up and I had to, yep, I had to do those deadlifts and I had to eat those meals but I had an incredible team that helped me.'”

Jackman then named the people who help him get in tip-top shape, including trainers Beth Lewis and Michael Ryan.

“There’s not a hope in hell I would have got there without them,” Jackman said.

He went on to say, “It’s really important to me that I acknowledge those people who have spent a lifetime doing what they do. They’re the top of their game. They’re the best in the world and I feel so privileged to have them in my corner and I would not have achieved that result without them. So, thanks.”

When Marisa Tomei was cast as Aunt May in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a fair share of fans pointed out that she wasn’t quite what people expected. That’s because the character is often portrayed as an older woman while Tomei still looks youthful. That still applies to the star now. Indeed, just days after turning 61, the actress shared a photo of herself looking absolutely sensational.

Marisa Has Advice for Her Younger Self

While Tomei doesn’t necessarily like to be defined by her age, she does have some advice for her younger self.

In March 2024, she was asked by New Beauty, “I know that you’ll turn 60 this year. Is there any thoughts that’s coming with that? Are you excited for it, or where are you with that?”

“I think it’s a silly thing to be quantified by,” Tomei replied.

New Beauty noted, “That’s totally fair. Do you have any advice that you’d like to give to your younger self when you were starting out, either professionally or personally?”

“My advice to my younger self is keep partying and keep having fun and do all the late nights and do everything that comes across your plate,” she said. “That’s the time to do it, really.”

When it comes to Tomei playing Aunt May in the Marvel “Spiderman” movies, she admits it left her “a little flummoxed.”

“Certainly you’ve seen photos and drawings of earlier iterations of Aunt May—they don’t look like the version in theaters currently,” Vogue noted during an interview with Tomei. “Can you talk about your approach to playing a younger, cooler, never-before-seen take on the character?”

“I tried hard to understand the cultural split: how to be very maternal but also very desirable,” she said. “On the one hand, it was kind of the mandate of the character and the way it was being preconceived [by Marvel].”

She added, “But there was what I thought the fans expected from the character, which was a strong maternal presence tending to home fires. In combining those things, I became a little flummoxed.”

Fortunately, she nailed her version of the character when the cameras started rolling.

Chris Pratt has taken the Thanksgiving period as an opportunity to give his fans a glimpse of his life at home with his family — and that includes an extremely rare glimpse of all four of his children.

The 46-year-old actor — most famous for his roles as Andy Dwyer in the NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation” and Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — took to his Instagram account to share a reel of six personal photographs with his 44.3 million followers.

Pratt’s four children come from two different relationships. He shares his oldest child, Jack, with his ex-wife Anna Farris. He also has two daughters, Eloise, Lyla, and one son, Ford, with his current wife, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter, Katherine.

Despite the intimate sneak peek into Chris Pratt’s home and family life, the Minnesota-born star managed to maintain his children’s privacy in the images of them that he included in his post.

Chris Pratt has a lot to be thankful for on a professional level this year, too.

In March, “The Electric State” released, in which Pratt starred alongside “Stranger Things” actress Millie Bobby Brown and “The Goonies” icon Ke Huy Quan. Directed by the Russo Brothers, the sci-fi action-adventure movie is loosely based on the 2018 illustrated novel of the same name by Simon StÃ¥lenhag.

In August, the action thriller television series “The Terminal List: Dark Wolf” released. Pratt both executive produced the show and starred in it as Lieutenant James Reece. Based on characters from the 2018 novel “The Terminal List” by Jack Carr, the series is a prequel to “The Terminal List,” which also starred Pratt and released in 2022.

Pratt has also been filming several other movies that are either currently in production or going through post-production. They include drama film “Way of the Warrior Kid,” sci-fi thriller “Mercy,” animated adventure comedy sequel “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” and superhero offering “Avengers: Doomsday.”

Hugh Jackman has revealed that he hasn’t ruled out returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future. The Wolverine actor has been involved in Marvel films for more than two decades, including in the 2024 release “Deadpool & Wolverine,” and has now refused to say that he has fully retired from portraying the famous X-Men character.

Over the weekend, Jackman was a guest on a British chat show alongside Kate Hudson, Ben Stiller, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. During his appearance on “The Graham Norton Show,” he was asked by Norton about the process of coming back as Wolverine for the 2024 film. 

The chat show host said, “Every time you’re on, you go, ‘Nope, I’m not doing that again,’ But then you keep making another one. And it’s a big, big hit. So are you gonna have to do it again?” 

Jackman replied with a simple “maybe” while mischievously looking towards the studio audience. 

He then went on to expand on his answer, explaining that he now takes an approach of not giving a definitive answer as it is always possible that the right project could come along and change his mind

“I am never saying ‘never’ ever again,” explained Jackman. “I did mean it when I said ‘never,’ until the day when I changed my mind. But I really did for quite a few years, I meant it.” 

The remark references the fact that Jackman had previously retired from playing Wolverine after the 2017 film “Logan.” For the next seven years he was not part of any Marvel project but returned to the role alongside Ryan Reynolds for “Deadpool & Wolverine.” With rumors suggesting Deadpool might appear in  “Avengers: Doomsday,” it wouldn’t be a huge shock to see Jackman as Wolverine in the upcoming film.

Whether or not Jackman does once again take up the mantle of Wolverine may not be sure, but what fans do know is that he will have a very different look in his next movie. The actor is set to portray the titular hero in “The Death of Robin Hood” and has gone through something of a physical transformation to do so.

Scarlett Johansson has officially signed on to star in a fresh, new take on “The Exorcist,” directed by horror maestro Mike Flanagan.

Breaking from her iconic and beloved role in the Marvel cinematic universe, she is set to show a acting range, according to Deadline.

Flanagan, known for genre hits like “The Haunting of Hill House” and “Midnight Mass,” is writing and directing the untitled project through his Red Room Pictures banner.

The flick is going to be an all-new film in the The Exorcist universe — not a sequel to “The Exorcist: Believer” (2023).

In a statement with Deadline, Flanagan praised Johansson.

“Scarlett is a brilliant actress whose captivating performances always feel grounded and real, from genre films to summer blockbusters, and I couldn’t be happier to have her join this ‘Exorcist’ film,” he stated.

What Makes This Exorcist Project Different

It’s been years in the making for this type of film. Flanagan previously mentioned how he felt about the film in an interview with Bloody Disgusting.

“But I’ve always felt that there’s no point in going into a franchise or into a property that monolithic unless there’s something new you can bring. I chased ‘The Exorcist’ very aggressively because I was convinced I had something that I could add,” he told the outlet.

He added, “This is an opportunity to do something that I believe has never been done within the franchise — something that honors what came before it but isn’t built on nostalgia. I really just saw an opportunity to make the scariest movie I’ve ever made. I know expectations are high. No one’s more intimidated than I am.”

When it was announced in May 2024 that Flanagan would direct the film, he expressed his happiness at the honor.

“‘The Exorcist’ is one of the reasons I became a filmmaker, and it is an honor to have the chance to try something fresh, bold and terrifying within its universe. Reuniting with my friends at Blumhouse, with whom I’ve made some of my favorite pieces of work, only makes this more exciting.”

Why Johansson’s Casting Matters

Johansson is no stranger to Hollywood blockbusters, but she hasn’t done much in traditional horror — which makes this move all the more intriguing.

Her involvement gives the project significant star power, and her reputation for strong, grounded acting aligns closely with Flanagan’s vision for a deeply character-driven horror film.

Deadline reported “that scheduling had to be worked out with a couple of upcoming projects but that this film will likely be next on her docket to shoot.”

She continued, “You can center yourself and take the pressure off of being constantly available.”

Chris Hemsworth is speaking candidly about a chapter his family never expected to confront. The Marvel actor revealed that his 71-year-old father, Craig, has been diagnosed with the active form of Alzheimer’s and has already begun experiencing memory loss and shifts in perception.

Chris first learned about his own heightened risk years earlier while filming the National Geographic series “Limitless,” where he discovered he carries two copies of the APOE4 gene linked to Alzheimer’s.

The finding hit him harder after Craig’s diagnosis, making the possibility of facing the disease himself feel more real.

With the family now stepping into a new phase, they chose to document the experience on film. Their new hour-long documentary, A Road Trip to Remember, premieres on NatGeo on November 23 and streams the next day on Disney+ and Hulu.

“It was an interesting thing to even consider,” Chris said, as per Esquire. “There was a lot of, as you’d expect, apprehension and concern about how will this be perceived or portrayed? I don’t want to feel like I’m manipulating any of it in any sense, so I asked him: ‘What did you think? What are your feelings about this?’ And he expressed a huge amount of enthusiasm to do it.”

Craig Opens Up on Camera About His Changing Reality

For Chris, one of the biggest challenges was asking his father, a quiet and strong-willed man, to speak openly about his changing health. Craig eventually voiced the truth during a campfire conversation captured in the film. He also talked about it on Good Morning America.

“Some days, things are quite clear and I can make sense,” Craig said, as reported by Esquire. “And then some days it’s not so clear. It’s not so correct.”

After a lifetime of caring for others as a father and as a child protective officer, Craig admitted that losing his independence frightens him most. “I can’t look after myself, and [will] be reliant upon other people to make decisions for me. … Being a burden is probably the biggest issue I think.”

Chris said hearing those words was overwhelming. “I remember when he said that,” he told Time. “It was profound and heartbreaking at the same time. We have to keep reminding him: ‘Let us help you here.’”

The Family Adjusts as Craig Resists Asking for Help

Chris admitted that Craig isn’t always the easiest patient, something many families navigating Alzheimer’s will recognize. “The resistance to us assisting or taking the burden away or doing it for him, is sort of problematic at times,” Chris said.

“It’s like, ‘Dad, you’ve got to let us step in at this point.’ And as time has gone on, there is a more openness to that. It’s day to day. But it says a lot about his character, his amount of deep integrity and compassion and selflessness.”

Months after filming, Craig is still fighting the effects of the disease, and Chris said he’s doing “well, all things considered.”

Chris Reflects on Fear, Family, and the “Comfort Crisis”

The diagnosis has reshaped how Chris approaches his own life. With a daughter and twin sons with his wife Elsa Pataky, he said his father’s struggles pushed him to live with more awareness, intention, and gratitude.

“For sure, the biggest takeaway for me was the comfort crisis that we’re faced with,” he said, as per Esquire.

“The removal of all the safety nets and actually seeking new adventure is healthy for the mind, the spirit, and the body. We settle for the familiar, even if it’s the wrong decision, because … well, it’s better than the I-don’t-know. And that’s the problem, I think. We become stagnant with that sort of mentality and there is a lack in our growth. To continually push back against that familiar path is where the true lessons come.”

Despite the fear that hangs over any Alzheimer’s diagnosis, Chris said Craig’s attitude continues to shape how he faces the future. “He has a pretty incredible perspective around all of it,” he said. “It causes fear and anxiety, but it’s a motivator to not take any of it for granted and, while he can, capture as many memories as possible and revisit the old ones.”

Chris remains healthy and focused on staying physically and mentally strong, but his father’s diagnosis has made the threat of Alzheimer’s more personal. The documentary, he says, is both a tribute and a reminder of the moments that matter most.

After the breakout success of his supernatural thriller “Sinners”, Ryan Coogler has confirmed that “Black Panther 3” will be his next movie.

During Deadline’s Contenders Film: Los Angeles event on Nov. 15, 2025, Coogler revealed that the next chapter of the “Black Panther” saga is officially moving forward. Speaking with Deadline, the two-time Oscar nominee said, “If it were anyone but you, I would say I could neither confirm or deny. But we’re working on it, we’re working on it hard… It’s the next movie.”

The announcement marks Coogler’s long-awaited return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after directing the first two “Black Panther” films — 2018’s record-breaking hit starring the late Chadwick Boseman and its 2022 sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, which earned more than $859 million worldwide. The next film will continue the story of Wakanda following Letitia Wright’s Shuri taking on the mantle of the Black Panther.

Denzel Washington Could Join the Marvel Universe

Coogler also confirmed he still plans to collaborate with two-time Academy Award winner Denzel Washington on “Black Panther 3.” Speaking earlier this year on “The Nightcap” podcast with Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, Coogler said he’s been “dying to work” with the Hollywood legend. “I’ve got every intention of working with him on that movie,” he said. “As long as he’s interested, man, it’s going to happen.”

Washington first sparked excitement in 2024 when he revealed that Coogler was “writing a part” for him in the next “Black Panther” film. He later told Variety that he called Coogler to apologize for letting the secret slip, adding, “Whatever he writes, I’ll read.”

While no release date has been set, the third installment is expected to arrive after “Avengers: Secret Wars” in Marvel’s Phase 7, continuing the franchise’s legacy while introducing new faces to Wakanda.
