Kicking Things Off Disney Night
We kick things off with a show-stopping group number to “Be Our Guest” from “Beauty and the Beast,” choreographed by Mandy Moore and featuring a special appearance by guest dancer Danny Gardner. We are all about celebrating the 70th anniversary of Disneyland.
The couples have taken the stage, so it’s time to get started! Another week of shattering voting records last week. Can we do it again?
Dylan Efron & Daniella Karagach
Dylan said he is so excited to be here and doesn’t want this to end. He is a rock climber, and this song reminds him of his road trips with his friends. He is performing a Quickstep to “Life Is A Highway” from “Cars.” They are trying to add his adventurous side and bring this movie to life.
This was a good routine. Quickstep is fast, but he was keeping up. They had quick feet and had some tricks in there, too. He had good posture, and I liked it.
Judges’ Feedback: Derek said Dylan McQueen the Quickstep King. Bruno said he is working on everything they say. He can see the work he has put into it. Carrie Ann said very impressive. When she watches him dance, she is truly engaged.
Judges’ Scores: 23 out of 30
Danielle Fishel & Pasha Pashkov on ‘Dancing With the Stars’
She got her highest score of the season last week on “Dancing With the Stars” season 34, but the competition is stiff. She is going all out this week. Back-to-back quicksteps, as this pairing is performing the Quickstep to “I Wan’na Be Like You (The Monkey Song)” from “The Jungle Book.”
So much fringe on that stage. The judges wanted them to work on body contact, and I think they did with this one. Fast-moving feet, but it was super fun and entertaining. They were so fun to watch.
Judges’ Feedback: Bruno said once they went into a quickstep, most of it was great. Carrie Ann said they were zipped up, like a Ziploc bag. Their body contact was great. Derek said he loves seeing her personality come through.
Judges’ Scores: 21 out of 30
Scott Hoying & Rylee Arnold
He said last week made him feel comfortable on the ballroom floor, so watch out now. Scott said he goes to Disneyland more than anyone in the cast. They will be performing a Salsa to “Bop to the Top” from “High School Musical.”
He definitely looks more comfortable on the dancefloor. He is having fun, and it shows. Scott is a tall guy, so some of the moves look awkward. However, he was having fun and they did well.
Judges’ Feedback: Carrie Ann said that’s what happens when the confidence kicks in. When he dances, he lives, and he was living through that routine. Derek said they are so good, and he loves seeing that confidence. Bruno said he loves to see his showmanship come alive.
Judges’ Scores: 21 out of 30
Alix Earle & Val Chmerkovskiy
Carrie Ann said she had her best performance of the season last week, and she is a contender. They will be performing a Viennese Waltz to “Once Upon a Dream” from “Maleficent.” She is excited to play a villain this week.
This one was amazing. I loved the music and how intense it was. The routine was very well done, and Alix was amazing as a villain. The best of the night so far.
Judges’ Feedback: Derek said that it was mesmerizing, magical, and spellbinding. This was her best dance. Bruno said she makes him spin. Every moment was clear, and flew effortlessly from her. Carrie Ann said she is on a roll. The partnership is amazing.
Judges’ Scores: 24 out of 30
Hilaria Baldwin & Gleb Savchenko on ‘Dancing With the Stars’
Hilaria said she is a huge “Star Wars” fan, so she is excited to combine it with dance. They will be performing a Quickstep to “Cantina Band” from “Star Wars: A New Hope.” Her family and Alec Baldwin joined her while in Disneyland, so she said that was exactly what she needed.
While I think they did good and it was a good Quickstep, it didn’t seem fitting for “Star Wars.” It’s fun and bubbly, but that doesn’t seem to be “Star Wars” to me.
Judges’ Feedback: Bruno said whatever they did worked. He didn’t see anything wrong tonight. Carrie Ann said she just saw her dancing and it was beautiful. Derek said there was enough Quickstep, and she thrived in that style.
Judges’ Scores: 23 out of 30
Andy Richter & Emma Slater
Andy said last week he finally felt what dance was all about, as he cried after his routine. Now he wants to stay here as long as possible. It’s still shocking that he has survived these eliminations, but America loves him, huh? They will be performing a Viennese Waltz to “Le Festin” from “Ratatouille.”
He just doesn’t seem to move much while out there. He does seem to be enjoying himself, but there isn’t much dancing there.
Judges’ Feedback: Carrie Ann said he makes memorable dances. They are in week 4 and will be looking for more content. Derek said he is proof that anyone can dance, and he is filling that space. Bruno said his kitchen put Martha Stewart’s to shame.
Judges’ Scores: 18 out of 30
Robert Irwin & Witney Carson
Robert said his family had quite a bit to say after his last performance. They dropped to third place last week, so he said it reminded them to step it up every week. Robert is a voice in “Zootopia 2,” so they will be dancing a Cha Cha to “Try Everything” from “Zootopia.”
I mean, it’s just a joy to see him perform on this show. He’s a ray of positivity. The routine was very good, and his lines were on point. I was very impressed.
Judges’ Feedback: Derek said he just has that Irwin aura, and he’s captivating. Bruno said it was clean, it was clear, it was sweet, and he liked it very much. Carrie Ann said sometimes he stops his movements and wants him to flow through his movements.
Judges’ Scores: 22 out of 30
Elaine Hendrix & Alan Bersten on ‘Dancing With the Stars’
She got the same score last week as the week before, so she is focusing on all of the judges’ comments and wants to improve this week. Elaine actually got started working at Disneyland. She will be performing the Quickstep to “Space Mountain” from the Space Mountain ride.
I think this was a fun routine. The music was entertaining, so it made it even more fun to watch. They were quick on their feet and had some great moves in their routine.
Judges’ Feedback: Bruno said she was moving at warp speed, which was wonderful. Carrie Ann said that it was brilliant and her best dance. Derek said he is so impressed with her. That was a complicated routine, and she didn’t miss a beat.
Judges’ Scores: 24 out of 30
Whitney Leavitt & Mark Ballas
They were on top of the leaderboard last week, and she just wants to keep that going and get better. They will be performing a Foxtrot to “The Room Where It Happens” from “Hamilton.” She thinks this is all about Broadway, so she is excited.
Yes, I understand this is on Disney+ to stream, but this seems like a Broadway show and not a Disney-type song or movie. Aside from that, the performance was amazing. This was so good and so intense. They had so many good moves, and it was very entertaining.
Judges’ Feedback: Carrie Ann said I was watching you, and my lip was quivering; it was so good. Derek said that felt like catching a front row seat to “Hamilton.” Bruno said showstopping routine worthy of the best of Broadway.
Judges’ Scores: 25 out of 30 (She got the first 9 of the season from Carrie Ann)
Jordan Chiles & Ezra Sosa
Jordan broke out of her shell last week and got emotional on “Dancing With the Stars” season 34. They ended the week at the top of the leaderboard. For tonight, they will be performing a Quickstep to “Special Spice” from “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.”
The height difference is so crazy, but Ezra always bends over and makes it look not as intense. This was a fun routine and cute. They had some good moves in there and some quick feet. It was sweet and cute.
Judges’ Feedback: Derek said she looked beautiful out there. It was crisp and charming. Bruno said she is dance royalty. Carrie Ann said this kind of dance is why people love Disney Night.
Judges’ Scores: 24 out of 30
Jen Affleck & Jan Ravnik on ‘Dancing With the Stars’
The last couple of the night on “Dancing With the Stars” 2025. After last week’s scores, she said she needs to kick it in this week. For this performance, they are doing Jazz to “Friend Like Me” from “Aladdin.” Jan is going full-blown Genie for this one.
This was entertaining, but the camera movements were a little too intense at the beginning. There was just too much going on and movement, so it was hard to focus on what they were actually doing. However, it was upbeat and fun.
Judges’ Feedback: Bruno said some theatrical magic, and it was so well put together. Carrie Ann said she is living the Disney dream. Great performance, but something about it didn’t set me over the top. Derek said everybody tonight has been fantastic, well done.
Judges’ Scores: 23 out of 30
