You might recognize Mike Wolfe from his popular show, “American Pickers” — or maybe you wouldn’t. That’s because the star has just debuted a new look that’s caused a bit of a buzz.
In a new video posted to Instagram on Wednesday, November 26, Wolfe showed off a fresh face and no beard which he’s been sporting for quite a while.
Singing a holiday tune for his followers, he wrote in the caption, “Happy Holidays from the picker guy! NEW episode of @americanpickers starts tonight at 9/8c on @history! Grab a seat, circle up with the family, and get cozy with some hands on history!”
While that’s great for fans of the show, there were followers who just couldn’t ignore the star’s fresh face.
Plenty of Fans Liked the Beardless Look
Do you think Wolfe looks good with a beard? Do you prefer to see him without one? Are you of the opinion that he can pull off both looks?
While beards may still be a popular option among celebrities and non-celebrities alike, Wolfe’s fans seem to agree that he looks better without facial hair. A fair share hopped into his Instagram comments to let him know they like to see him fresh shaven.
One person wrote, “Mike looks great without the beard 👌”
“Love you with or without a beard! 💋,” a second person added.
Someone else left a comment saying, “Like the no beard look!”
“You look WAY better clean shaven! 🔥,” came from another follower.
Another fan wrote, “Definitely glad you shaved the beard bro!”
Beard or No Beard?
If you have opinions when it comes to beards, then you’re certainly not alone. Plenty of people have thoughts about facial hair, particularly when it comes to celebrities.
“Did you prefer Brad Pitt clean-shaven? Are you a fan of George Clooney’s beard? Were you devastated when Jason Momoa shaved his facial hair? There’s a long list of celebrities who’ve sported a variety of beard styles, from clean and close shaves to moustaches and full beards,” Good Housekeeping points out.
They also ask, “Are you a fan of the fresh-faced look? Is a close shave but still with a little stubble is your more your preference? Perhaps a full beard really your thing? Or, does your opinion differ depending on the person?”
Indeed, Bustle notes that “[s]ometimes, having a beard can make a person look even more handsome and sophisticated, and other times, it distracts from their features.”
As Men’s Health also explains, “Sometimes the mustache [or beard] maketh the man, and sometimes the razor refines him.”
