“Grey’s Anatomy” actor Eric Dane shared a quiet moment with his estranged wife, Rebecca Gayheart, in Los Angeles as he continues his battle with ALS. The 52-year-old was seen leaving a Hollywood sushi restaurant, with Gayheart and one of their daughters walking close beside him.
Photos and video obtained by the Daily Mail showed the family moving together at a gentle pace. A source told the outlet the outing was part of the family’s effort to give Dane “as many enjoyable moments as possible” as he manages his illness.
“Rebecca and her kids want to treat things with Eric, their dad, as normal as possible,” the insider said. “They want to have as many feel-good moments as they can while he is healthy enough to be out and about and able to do things.” See the photos here.

The outing marked one of several family dinners the group plans to continue. “Going out to dinner is one of those moments,” the source added. “It’s something the family would do even if Eric weren’t sick.”
Gayheart, 54, who dismissed her divorce filing in March 2025, remains by his side with their two daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13. Friends say the family hopes to keep creating comforting memories together in the months ahead.
Dane’s ALS Diagnosis & Rapid Decline
ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a rare and incurable motor neuron disorder that affects roughly 5,000 Americans each year. Symptoms often appear gradually, with patients losing muscle function and mobility over time.
