Who shot Drew Cain has been the biggest whodunit that “General Hospital” has offered in quite a while. The list of potential suspects seems fairly endless. Nearly everyone who is anyone in Port Charles has an axe to grind with Congressman Cutthroat.
The PCPD has spent the last month sifting through names and interviewing persons of interest, with Anna, Chase, and Dante trying to pin down a suspect.
Cameron Mathison, who plays Drew Cain, recently chatted with Soaps.com, and shared his thoughts on who he thinks may have done it.
Drew Truly Believes That Michael Shot Him
ABCNo one understands Drew’s mindset quite like Mathison, so his input is valuable. “There’s a big part of him that actually believes Michael shot him, even though there’s evidence that points elsewhere. For example, motives come to light, which makes Portia and Curtis look guilty, and it could easily be them. And there’s clearly a motive for Willow to have done it. I mean, my God, he’s been horrible to her.”
The actor continues down the conspiracy rabbit hole, “Sidwell paid off the judge and made it look like Sonny, but Sonny found out and somehow got the wire transfer put into Drew’s safe to make him look guilty.”
“So Drew believes,” Mathison says, “that maybe Michael shot him knowing the police would search the house and find the wire transfer, which makes Drew look guilty. It would get Sonny off scot-free and make Drew look guilty in the process. So in Drew’s mind, there’s a lot of evidence pointing to Michael!”
Michael Is Worried About His Alibi Falling Apart
ABCDrew has already talked to Martin about setting Michael up. He is ready to tell the police that he remembers it was Michael, despite drawing a complete blank on the evening that he was shot. Meanwhile, Michael has gone to great lengths to try to make his alibi of being with Jacinda seem realistic. She even stopped in for tea at the Qs after Monica was laid to rest!
He can lay the groundwork as much as he likes, but the reality is, Michael was outside of Drew’s house in the minutes before he was shot. Tracy saw him there and will cover for him, but can anyone else put him there?
