Cameron Mathison Welcomes Hunter Back Into His Life
On October 8, Mathison took to Instagram to give fans an update on a foster dog who is back in his life.
“Hunter’s back with me! We found out the hard way that this big guy really needs to be the only pet in the house — so until we find him the perfect setup, he’s hanging with me again,” Mathison explained in the caption.
He continued, “And yes, I can already hear you all saying it … ‘He’s meant to stay forever!'”
“Trust me, I’ve thought that too. But where I’m living right now, space is a little tight until I decide whether to rebuild or move — so for now, we’re just enjoying the time together,” he noted.
Mathison added, “If you (or someone you know) has room in their home and heart for a 100-pound Doberman with no other pets, please reach out or drop a comment below!”
The Great American Family star first introduced his fans to Hunter in August. At the time, he explained in an Instagram post, “Some of you may remember my Doberman Red, who passed away about a year and a half ago and I’ve been thinking a lot about adopting or fostering another one for a long time.”
On August 17, he updated fans with news that Hunter would be joining another family. “I know many people were hoping for a foster fail … and so was I,” he wrote at the time.
The actor shared, “I think if we really consider what’s best for him, it’s a more stable household with more space (at least until I rebuild) and certainly some outdoor space for him … he’s a big boy.”
Fans Are Still Hoping Hunter and Mathison End Up Together
Fans flooded the comments section of his October update, with many hoping that Mathison and Hunter will stick together.
